Cool How do you usually choose anime before watching it?

How do you usually choose anime before watching it?

for me.. A true Animaster knows what anime is what.

An accomplished disciple of Anime will have already gone through a meditative period of highly intensive research.

One does not merely 'choose' an anime; Anime chooses you.

After a long time of being involved with anime, there's a kind of instinctual intuition for picking a new anime to watch.

If you're someone like me who's always looking for something epic to watch, you'll go through a kind of selection process of scouring the Anichart season releases. I look at the artwork on the title poster, the title of the anime, the description, and what genres are included in the show. I usually run through this process way ahead of time and more than once.

Solely base on my interest. If I like the description, I will like it despite how terrible it would be from comments by those who already experienced the original material. If I thought to be a pure nonsense anime gets positive impact from those I think opinion is worthy, then I will consider watching that anime as well.

We normally watch anime to “enjoy”. I don't think it has something to do with choosing the right anime and becoming a true anime master. Unlike now where I watch almost anything and I'm still trying so hard to find at least an average or decent anime regardless of it's genre that I haven't watched yet, I used to just find an anime based on my interest and tastes in genres. I also accept recommendations from the majority, lots of positive feed backs, and highly rated series.

Nowadays, I feel so unsatisfied and lacking with some stories of the anime that I don't want to read the synopsis anymore. Now, I just randomly watch titles. First, I look at the title page as a whole. If I feel something, I look at it's genres. And if it suits my preferences then I go watch the series without reading the synopsis.

It all goes down with the
    feeling and instinct.

I look at the genres, the synopsis and ask people in the shoutbox whether or not it's good.

i usually just read the summary the genre, and maybe watch the trailer. a lot of the times i go watch animes that i don't originally pick just because i started to run out of animes to watch. this actually works because i later start loving the animes that i originally avoided

I actually am quite picky on what anime to watch since i would still think it over if this certain anime is worthy to be watched. But mostly, on picking what anime I want to watch, i consider looking at it's genres (if it includes genres that i like then probably, i would like it), also the ratings (normally i search around the net and visit some other otaku sites here and check if it has high ratings), also i always see other people's recommendations, the higher the recoms. on that anime, the more i want to check it out :) And lastly, probably the plot, at the first episode of every anime, i always check if the events that happend at the first episode will continue on getting better throughout the series.

I dont care about the graphics because if you do you deprive the anime the chance of taking your breath away (well not literally of course that would be illegal! hahaha) I read the synopsis and from there I judge if i would watch it or look for another one and also by reading reviews and comments and the like :)

I just read the synopsis and if it piques my interest then I'll watch it. Besides, if the anime fails to meet my expectations I can always stop watching it. On the other hand, recommendations from people I trust or are familiar with are good places to start for me to watch a certain title.

Generally I pick things with a lot of action and good animations, but sometimes I get soft and chose a good romance or slice of life anime, picking the ones with a good description as well as good reviews

The genre and I read the synopsis :) and if my brother (which is super ultra duper anime addict) recommend it to me or if he said that the certain anime is nice and worth watching. :D

I usually read the synopsis. Pretty much all I need to know is there. Having watched a good deal of anime, I can honestly say it's a lot like food; You never know if you'll like it until you try it.

Usually, they release a first key image for anime, so I look at those and see what ones look interesting. After that I read up on what its about, check out related stuff like manga or novels, and watch all the trailers. If they all look cool, then I'll watch at least the first episode.

If I run out of stuff to watch, then I sort of relax my criterion and check out stuff I thought only looked kind of interesting. I often find a great show or two that I shouldn't have overlooked in the first place. Nowadays, I tend to watch and enjoy a ton of anime from all different genres that I wouldn't have watched if I hadn't looked into other shows this way.

Also, if there are shows based on a manga, novel, or game that I like, then I'll probably watch those without as much research.

Plot, Art Style, Graphics. I usually drop an Anime if I haven't seen any major story progress in its 5th -7th episode.

~ by its genre to its plot, I would also apply the time when it was made or aired...
