Lets start some basic functions
Currently I'm using PS CS3

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/tuto1.jpg

Now create image size you want
so I use 600 x 150

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/tuto2.jpg

Then select any background image you want to put it in your little project
*Note: Original Image is not blur ^^ later for advance

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/tuto3.jpg

Next drag the image your going to use its better to use renders because its easy to put no more erasing

like this one

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/SeikonnoQwaser-01-Large08.jpg

To this

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/seikonnoqwaser-1.jpg ^^ sig taken already

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/tuto4.jpg

Although this one kinda advance a little but its easy
See that arrow in the image its says "Screen" its makes the image to become lighter or transparent to use as my lighting effect
*Note: try experimenting it ^^ because its fun to play

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/tuto5.jpg

The rest is history ahahahahaha joke

In Photoshop you will learn new if you EXPERIMENT using other functions

Image Alteration

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/next.jpg

Time to learn to alter some images you have

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/next2.jpg

Lets start in Hue / Saturation from Image > Adjustment > Hue / Saturation for short its CTRL + U

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/next3.jpg

Its fun to use Hue / Saturation coz its fun to make different color outcomes like this one
You just move the sliders Hue ; Saturation ; Lightness
Hue = the color outcome
Saturation = how much color to fill less Saturation it will become colorless ; more saturation its like you spilled to much coloring on it
Lightness = common sense ^^ light or dark of the image

Sharpen and Blur

Now you already know color image alteration; Sharpen and Blur combination
In Photography this is known as Focusing ^^

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/next4.jpg

From Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen
Dont be scare of using some of the functions of Filter Im just lazy to tell every function its way too many ^^ anyway

Sharpen I use to make the image refine the edges of the image

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/next5.jpg

Just observe carefully the application of Sharpen to see the difference with and without

*Note: Dont too much Sharpen its bad ^^ you will see edges of the images

Next Blur

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/next6.jpg

Same tab: Filter > Blur > Blur Motion
You see the effect of Blur its Cool ^^ especially if you have C4D effects image for better outcome
Anyway

Next is Apply Image

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/next7.jpg

This one can be use when you are about to finish everything especially if you have a lot of layers you used
Its pretty easy just click it then there are drop down boxes there just try experimenting

Focusing Style
A while ago I mentioned about Focusing in Photography if you dont have any SLR Camera not the point to shoot camera; the Camera use by Professional Cameramen in modeling etc....

Lets Begin

Now get any image with a background already

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/blur.jpg

Now use the Blur brush from the tools on the left
*Note: I forgot to put the arrow anyway by Right Clicking it will display other function like Blur ; Sharpen ; Smudge

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/blur2.jpg
Now you click the Blur Brush now just Blur the background image except the Focus Target (I mean the person)
Just carefully Blur the image not to blur the Target
If you cant brush it make the diameter smaller by doing it just right click in the image while the blur brush is on then move the slider or input the __px value

After blurring all the background then apply Sharpen
Then you have already Focusing Method/Style

Rendering

Time to learn how Render images (removing the background of a certain image)
Lets start some image, pick any images you want. For starters use small images, for ADV. users go big like wallpapers or something ahahahahaha /gg

Well anyway this image has less curves and hair curves its like everything is almost straight line

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/render1.jpg

Lets start, Im using Pen Tool for better rendering. Some use Magnetic Lasso also a good one but its uncontrollable, we will go manual way. Click the Pen Tool and then Click Paths

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/render2.jpg

Just click anywhere you want to render (When you click and drag it will create an arc kinda hard but effective in long and short curves ^^; ) and start rendering all the border of the character
Now if you want to make a curves just click into small intervals to make an arc
The CTRL + Click and Drag is use for small adjustments

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/render3.jpg

Now this is the result of rendering the border of the character

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/render4v2.jpg

Now to close, just click the Starting Point to connect the current point to close it

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/render5.jpg

Then after closing it, right click then select make a selection then click.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/render6.jpg

Adjust the Feather Radius by 0.1 px or 0.2 px then click OK

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/render7.jpg

Then CTRL + C ( copy ) the image the click New File again

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/render8.jpg

In the New File, change the Background Contents into Transparent, and the image size is automatic since you Copy the image a while ago then click OK

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/render9v2.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/render10.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/render11.jpg
CTRL + Click the image in Layers to load the selection, then click Select then Modify then click Contract
and finally click Select again then click Inverse (Shift + CRTL + I) then hit Delete so clear all the dirt around the image ^^ then De-select it

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/render12.jpg

To save just follow the image ahahahahaha, just change the Format into PNG

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/barton10/Photoshop/SZS.png

Is the layer that you want to render highlighted? Or did you paste your selection into the new file?

Also, I don't think it really is necessary to create a new file anyways. You just need to go to Select > Inverse, and then delete the rest of the layer and save it as another file name and a png file.

How do i make a new layer with white background? please help :(
(Coloring)

Well, you can always make a new layer and manually color it in white. Or you can go to Layer > New > Layer... or press (Shift+Ctrl+N) and you get to choose what color you want the new layer to be, and set it to a mode of your choice.

Hi! Thanks for posting this thread. It helps me to review some buttons frequently used in PS. Just wondering in the first topic. How did you upload 2 different pic in a tab like the Haruhi pic and a pic from C4D? :)

I kind of don't get it when I try to upload two pics in PS. They have separate layers.
