If I am studying I prefer foreign music because then I don't get as distracted by what is being sung about. I gotta admit though I love the vocal oils. At least most of the girls ones. The guys sound stupid. Luna is the one I like the most I think.

I have a new interest in the Gaulish language, thanks to the band Eluveitie and their use of said language in their music.

A question: do you ever listen to Western/English music as 'otakus'?
I know you can not distinguish 'Western', as south Japan is as 'West' as America; but still. English language songs, if you will. I notice all the music you are posting is Japanese, or sung in Japanese; I have to concede that apart from a few select artists I do not listen to Japanese vocal music. It is boring for me o.O
I much prefer English or 'foreign' language songs where I have to translate as I go along. I was just wondering if it was mirrored, if reversed.

This was played at a party a while back, and I must admit; it was good. The slow BPM, deep synthline and militristic kicks, combined with Steve Naghavi's beautiful accent...truly, it is a 'sexy' song. I love his voice. Purring...

A, well, anyway, another factor ehhh :(, *ignore*.

A little known artist, a huge drop, a classic name. I wish Japan would start producing some decent DuBstep. Truly, a failure. I have to concede to England on this genre. ;)

    Koan Sound - Akira

[ Please bear in mind that the drop on this is to 31Hz; with added cuts. Unless you are a 'music otaku' (ongaku?) and have adequate speakers, it will sound distorted. This clip is a modified version, with a higher drop. http://www.youtube.co.jp/watch?v=ITlyEnNLuSc ]

One of the few Japanese artists I listen to, Mizumori's voice is beautiful. Support the mS of Japan! For victory!

That is a selection of the music I listen to; perhaps if any commenting could do similar? It would be interesting.
I mostly listen to english music. I have a great variety of music. I love instrumental (any country), opera, french, and some japanese.

This are the some of the french music that I listen to

I was never really into spending a lot of time listening to music, so the only music that I really listen to is from anime and games (which don't usually have vocals anyway), which means most of the songs are in Japanese.

I do listen to mostly english music. I live in America and didn't really even get into anime until I started high school. And I actually only more recently got into japanese music, like within the last maybe 2 years or so. I started listening to Gackt, Vocaloids, C-ute, Baby Metal, and quite a few others more recently. Actually, I started listening to vocaloids maybe like 3 or so years ago. But yeah, thats mine. Oh plus I sometimes download anime OPs & EDs if I like them enough (like Guren no Yumiya )

It's a pleasant mix for me. English is fantastic since I can easily understand all the lyrics, but Japan has some great traditional-style musicianship as well as modern j-rock. I'm decent with Chinese, and they're slowly starting to get more into modern music; although their traditional instrumentation is also excellent.

I really like traditional Gaelic folk songs since they're a throwback to my Irish heritage, and there's number of other countries in Europe that have metal/death metal bands that sing in their own tongue (Rammstein, anyone?).

I listen to music in its native language whether that Japanese, Chinese, Korean, English, Spanish, German...ect. I think music is so mch more moving at least to me when it is preformed in it's native tongue.

My iTunes library is a nice mix. I have songs in German, Swedish, Gaelic, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hungarian, and, of course, English. I'm sure I have songs in other languages in my library as well, but I don't feel like scanning through 3,000+ songs at the moment.

Whether I understand what's being said or not is irrelevant. What's important is the sound of a song. If I like the sound then it goes into the library ^_^

I listen to pretty much anything. The language doesn't really bother me unless I consider it an "ugly language". In my opinion, some languages are more musically inclined than others.
