Depends on what you're going to be using it for most of the time. Honestly, it'd be much cheaper and more efficient to build a desktop if you don't HAVE to have a laptop. I can give some pointers on the specs you would need if you can give me an idea of what you'll be using it for.

EDIT: It would also help if you had a list of laptops you were looking at, that way I can see if you're making an informed decision.

I'd really say you have to build a desktop instead. As for the specs, it really depends if you want a computer for office use or gaming purposes.

Thank you very much for the help, Nichi and Naz! :D

Well, I have to HAVE a laptop since you can call me a digital nomad and I travel often. And I am looking at HP Edge, LG and my laptop now is a Dell Inspiron which I am thinking of purchasing the new Dell Inspiron that was recently released.

Not sure if these choices are good, though. :/

IMHO, it's not really so much about the model (Dell Inspiron, HP Envy [Edge is a point of sale machine], etc), but what's inside. Like when you go for an Inspiron, you can choose from a variety of CPUs, RAM, Hard drive, etc.

To get started, you should first pick what kind of CPU you want, decide how much RAM you need, etc. Once you know what you want, then go looking for laptops which meet those requirements.

I noticed you mentioned looking at an LG laptop. My first was a LG and it survived 8 years of run time, more stair drops and bedside drops than you can shake a stick at. this being said, with any laptop purchase, make sure to pay attention to the processor. a lot of more affordable laptops come with second rate processors, for instance, my last 2019 Asus walmart special was slower and more laggy in every aspect, especially but not limited to typing a standard text document. my current 2014 Alienware 14 is much better in every aspect and it was purchased for a sixth the price from the marketplace. Just remember to keep an eye out for second hand depending on your location. that 500,1000,2000 you might spend tomorrow could get you a laptop from yesterday that far exceeds your expectations.
