    Default Deer vs Beef

This poll is to decide which meat tastes better: deer or beef. However to make this fair I'm going to give a third option for people who have never tried deer so we can limit the poll to people who have had experience eating both.

The wild flavor of deer meat definitely makes it preferable, not to mention it is lower in fats than modern beef. A healthier choice which is also more flavorful.

Gets my vote any day of the week.

Years ago, my dad and uncles were seasonal hunters and we would have venison from time to time. I didn't recall it being any better (maybe even a little worse just because it was different) than beef.

This is definitely a "must have experience to vote" poll, as there are probably more people that just don't even have access to it than those who do. Thanks for putting the "haven't tried" option. Deer has a really gamey taste in most areas, as baiting isn't allowed everywhere and some people simply believe that it's not "sportsmanly" to bait them either. However, deer with a large supply of corn will actually develop fat that tastes more similar to lamb/goat, but still has it's own distinct taste. Many can't stand the gamey taste, but I personally prefer it, probably because I was raised on it. This doesn't mean I'll turn down a juicy ribeye, mind you.

I haven't tasted deer but how would it fare if say, it's up against Kobe beef?

I've had venison a few times, and I'm not a fan. Beef all the way
