Default How old is too old?

Do you think there should be an age limit to being an otaku? Do you think you will still be an otaku in your 30's - 70's??

lots of questions I know but you get the drift..

I'll start this out.. (I can relate to the guy in welcome to the NHK) I remember and watched (love) Voltron Lions from when they first aired it on TV. I don't hide my animes but my family thinks I'm weird, and the only way I'll stop watching is when I'm dead.
May you live in interesting times... (Confucius)

Too old? That`s a new one.
I`ll never stop enjoying anime & manga. And I'll never stop being an otaku.

I don't think it's something you can get too old at. And if someone says other wise tell them they are jealous because they don't have something that they enjoy. :3

I'm 30 and I still like anime, lol. My husband is 38 and he likes it too. (not as much as me but he does!)

Basicly this thread is going to be about a bunch of old people (myself included) patting eachother on the backs saying comforting words in order to make ourselves feel better.

With that off my chest let me join the patting :P Yeah I'm totally a hypocrit.
I don't think there is anything wrong with watching anime no matter how old you are. People spend outrageous amounts of time watching television-shows that has no point, mindless entertainment you'll have forgotten all about the moment you turn of the tv.
Some people might argue that watching "cartoons" as a grown-up person is a weird and pointless doing, but in reality they themselves spend even moretime letting their braincells rot away watching never ending reality shows.

(it won't be fun if we all agree)

I'll probably watch anime for the rest of my life, but we should really appreciate it now. When were still at the same age as the characters (In most animes). It would feel a little awkward watching something like Lucky Star at age 30, ya know? (For a guy anyways)

Haha gamer45798, that's a good idea. (laptop in Jello)

I think one of the best things about anime is that people of all ages can enjoy it. Even though it tends to focus on the teenage demographic, there are still more mature ones out there.

God forbid that one day, all the anime that comes out is ecchi. I think that's when I would stop watching anime for good.

Truth be told... I'm not that old... 19...
On my way but not there yet...
(Let me join the back patting anyway...)

But I've been told how immature and weird
I am for still watching Anime...
I personally have friends who are older than me
    And they freaking love Anime...

I look up to them... Mainly because their taller...
But seriously.. I admire them and to the
People here too at Otaku Streamers...

If you ask me... I love watching Anime...
And i believe that there is no stopping it...
Check it out my new signature...

Ecchi is good, I enjoy it some times, but only when it's seperate. If serious anime series suddenly became ecchi, then yeah, that would kind of suck.

No such thing as too old. I plan on watching anime and reading manga until my dying breath.

    Level me up!

May otakuism live strong for both genders through all ages. Though there are specific cases that would be a little weird. Like for example an elder gentleman watching a lolicon anime. Thats just asking for pedobear. Or a 10 year old watching kiss x sis. So to sum it up watching anime is fine at any age, as long as your watching anime appropriate for your age (after like 25 and before old enough to be creepy ur all in the same catagory of appropriate, which is basically any anime in my opinion.)

i guess there's no "too old" for watching anime

everyone has their hobby (likes and dislikes) etc.

i think i am going to watch anime till...hmm well until i have the ability to watch TV?
    under construction.. maybe..

There's no reason for you to stop being an otaku unless you change your belief or anything that you think need to change

That's when you come up with your own anime ;)

I don't think this is an age limit on watching anime at all. I will watch it Forever :D

But in future I think I will have watched all the completed animes, then I would have to depend on Airing series (Gasp!)

Too old? Heck no! You can ignore anyone that told you that!

A lot of my firends are people who are in their 20s and they still cosplay and I know a grow up man, fully employed that still collects Nenoroids.

If it's your passion, then still with it till the end!

Do not become afraid that you will be afraid that you'll be a society outcast if you're an adult otaku because you are already one when you first became an otaku . . .

I'm 21, the years are passing by quicker and quicker as they come and go. Next I know I'll be 30. Will I still be watching anime then? I sure like to think so. I'll go day to day, watching anime as I have since I started before this summer. I'll enjoy every second of it too. And I'll keep watching so long as I enjoy it. A guy is allowed one favorite pass-time isn't he?
