Discord for OS

I mean it would be a cool thing since we can watch anime together and even talk with people when we are on discord. it would be a great part of the community

I like this idea. Also, Discord can be helpful in reporting dead links or some weird bugs that can be found in the site.

I would join a discord for sure, but I also think it will drive traffic away from the site. Like... even less people would talking in the shout box or post on the forum.

The way I'd describe it is that the lack of an option such as Discord is driving people away right now the way it is.

Not to be accusatory or insult anyone, but let's be realistic for a moment. The rest of the world is moving in the direction of things such as Discord, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. for social networking - one can't expect the concept of a forum or a Shoutbox to survive forever in lieu of more preferred alternatives.

Speaking for Discord, they have a decent API for integrating into existing websites to an extent. It's there for a reason; why not use it?

to be honest the site stayed in a standstill for almost a decade with not much innovation going.. we pretty much stayed in the shadows a few changes aren't bad but it have to move foward.. i'm pretty sure jim want OS to grow more but it need fresh ideas.. i don't want to stay like this.. to be honest when OS v 3 was a thing i was very hopeful of a new home.. that was 7-8 years ago.. but i'm still waiting..

Im not using FB like many years but i use Discord and many mine RL and DW friends use it too.

It would make many things easier.

Probably not. I personally don't use FB as well and use discord a lot.

IMO, We could have new staff members that will be more active. We still have coms here so Discord is a no go. Admins are still working as hard as ever but there should be new mods or even the staff before (retired/inactive) can reclaim position if they can.
