Personally,i'm all for extra options, but don't think i'd use bitcoin myself (hassle, legal issues in my country regarding taxation, etc),despite there being a need for it/alternative options.
just throwing my two cents out there, this is what I think (ideally, we'd continue with paypal but yeah...stuff can happen)

If using bitcoin becomes an available option, someone needs to make a thread about how to gain it and how to use it for donation

Setting up a bitcoin account and farming it is a hassle to search on google, would be nice if compiled in a single thread

You're referring to mining, which is one method of gaining bitcoin. This is the best method for people who are in countries where bitcoin is strongly regulated. However, it eats up computer resources & requires high end CPU/GPUs to make anything out of it. The other option OS would most likely integrate is a currency exchange service that allows others to convert their country's currency into bitcoin.

But it is true that a very simple & effective guide is needed on OS for donors.

I'm too old school I think for cryptocurrency stuff. Given the awareness of how "off the books" those transactions can be for people so inclined, is there a chance that its use here could attract more scrutiny? PayPal might not be great, but it gives more transparency and legitimacy when agencies are trolling around to find illicit dealings. Just sayin'

    More options, more convenient.

BTC is okay for me. You could also add other digital wallets like Skrill, Neteller, or Webmoney.

Not only the mining, there are other ways to gain bitcoin although slower than mining, it's still a way to gain bitcoins

I'm just going to probably embarrass myself and just come out and say it: I don't even know what bitcoin is... So, there's that to consider too.

I have bitcoin. If given an option between BTC and PayPal, I'd choose BTC, hands-down. There's just so many horror stories around PayPal, I'm surprised you haven't had issues sooner.

If OS would be accepting BTC soon, then I'm all for it. This would give me a chance to support and donate.

Default I've been wanting to donate but I don't use paypal nor bitcoin

It would be great if we can transfer donation though bank. I'd be down for that.

I don't have any BTC (I don't know how to have or anything concerning BTC, sorry), and I heard in my country is a bit expensive.
If it's the unique option, I would like to have some guide to help me, if possible. I'm not very good with computers.
If I can, I would prefere to donate from transfert bank or paypal.
Maybe to have two or three option is more available ?
Sometimes I paid some artistes from a "tip" to th website Tipeee = Patreon in U.S., maybe other solution exist ?
