Default Which would you prefer?Sub or Dub?

For me?!, Sub!! Can't say I really hate dub ya know because some series are good with dubs.. for ex. DBZ.. i grew up watching that series and made me who I am today, Pokemon, and other good dub series.. but if we're talking about subs.. it kinda brings the originality of the series am i right?

Anyways which do you prefer? Sub or Dub?

Raw or Sub i guess ... mainly to learn the meaning and how to pronounce japanese the right way.

Its not that i hate dubs or something, the reason is they cut too much or change the meanings from the original anime.

RWBY is an exception, i like that show alot XD

Subs, purely for the capture of emotions. voice actors (speaking Japanese) tend to show more emotion, and are able to conform the voice to the right settings a lot easier that English speaking voice actors.

However, there are some brilliant dubs out there, like DBZ, for example. Also, if Dubs seem to be choppy or disconnected from the original piece, it's cause the direct translation doesn't correlate to the actual sentences being spoken. Not only that, if you were to use the subtitles as your base script, you would either need to stretch sentences, or shorten the time on which you have to get all the words out. It's all about precision of time.

Subbed. For both anime and KDrama. It is just so weird to hear any anime with English dub knowing that it is Japanese as well as for the KDrama when we know that it is Korean. The timing of the mouth is just so weird. Hahahaha
Plus we can learn new things when it is subbed. We learn new words out from that language.

Subs. They're far more accurate to the storyline than any dub could do.

There are some decent dubs out there - like Full Metal Alchemist is one I can only watch dubbed. Cowboy Bebop is the best dubbed anime out there, hands down. I also watched Yu Yu Hakusho in dubbed and can't watch it any other way.

I was told Fairy Tail, which I watch dubbed, is better subbed so I'm willing to re-watch it to see the difference. Mostly, I watched subbed.

I always watch subs. I am not a blind hater of dubs, but in my experience, they generally do not stand up to the quality of the original voice-overs. They probably have improved in recent years, but I will still stick to subs, as I understand Japanese, so it doesn't really make much of a difference.

Since you didn't mention whether it was for anime or games, I always thought the dub of Persona 4 Golden (and the Arena series) was actually really good and I could enjoy playing it in either dubbed or the original voice-overs.

Sub. How else will I ever learn new words and phrases? Besides, dub usually sounds kind of weird. The only time I will watch something dubbed is if I'm trying to do something else at the same time that prevents me from watching the screen at all times. Though, sometimes I'll do it for an anime that I just bought just so I can get an understanding of the story so that when I watch it all the other times subbed, I don't have to worry about missing something just because I'm paying too close attention to the subtitles. LOL
