depends what the lie is .... what are we talking a little lie like "oh you look a bit better today" or a big lie like "i killed your dog', how about a lie with a positive efect like telling someone who was in a rage that the person they were in a rage about was in a different location (thus eliviateing a potential future conflict ) or what about an ommision of the truth like not telling a cancer sufferer how long they have to live ? or is it a harmfull lie like telling someone someone else is out to get them ?

anyways there are lots of types of lie and wether one should feel guilty or not is totaly dependent on the magnitude, motive and final effect of the deception .... in most cases i do not lie as i have no need too but when i do i make sure there is a very good reason (and even then i sometimes feel guilty) but if the lie is a "good" lie and dose no harm then i dont o0

Depends on what the lie is, but mostly I'll worry about it for a little bit and then just not care. I never lie to hurt or inconvinience people, so there's nothing to feel bad about.

I agree with the most answers on here. It depends upon what kind of lie one gives away. I know that the bottom line is that it is still a lie but with different intentions and motives, it can either be for the good or for the bad. I rarely lie anyway so this isn't much of a problem for me. I don't see the point of lying and making something easy become more complicated when the truth is just there to be told in the first place.

If I lied for bad motives, I will feel guilty. If I lie for good purpose I won't feel bad about it. It really depends. But I don't usually lie because it's the best to know the truth.

i feel guilty when i lie to an innocent person who never harmed or did something demonic to me. I've never experienced lying to my friends, well if i want to troll them i would but, lying for my own sake and attention, never.

Well it depends. For me if my lie hurted another person, i would just feel guilty to the max. But if no one ven seemed bothered by it, then it's no problem for me :)

I make a point of not lying, regardless of the problems it might cause for myself or for others. Lying only causes pain in the long run, I'd rather not have to face that.

When lying for fun, I don't feel that much guilty.
But when outright lying, I feel guilty big time especially when I hurt someone with my lies.

Depends on the lie and who it was to, though usually i avoid lying since it leads to problems later. If its a small white lie then its alright but anything big i feel pretty guilty. So i avoid lying if its something like that.

Depends on who I lie to. I usually feel bad when I lie to my family.

Since long Ago, I have made it to the point of not to Lie.
I can with pretty clear mind say, I do not lie.
Lying is just an escape route for cowards and non-intellectuals.

However, that doesn't mean that I do not hide the truth,
And Do I feel bad about that?
    No.

Of course I feel guilty when I lie so no use in lying because there's a price to pay and that's trust

This is totally situational, but generally yes. I'm not one to lie about anything. The more you lie, the more you have to remember what you lied about. It's just trouble if you forget and renig on something you said before or they find out in some other way eventually.

When I'm in the office working with a customer, sometimes it's necessary to lie to keep things moving smoothly or to get them to do what I need them to do. It's a "necessary evil" if you will. For instance, I'll have a high priority project that needs to be done ASAP for one customer and a second customer is breathing down my neck wanting theirs. I'll tell the second that their project is my top priority, but, due to some technical complication, it's going to take a day or two (in reality a few hours) to complete. They'll hang up happy that I'm on the job and I've bought myself enough time to finish the top priority job first. Most of the time I can tell the truth as say that we finish projects in the order we received them, but there's at least one each month who feels entitled to the front of the line because their project is urgent.

Urgency on their part does not constitute urgency on my part. It's their fault they waited too long to make the request and ended up short on time, but that's another rant entirely...
