  1. Chronicles of an Aspiring Writer (2nd Chapter)

    Greetings OS readers,

Well, I took a break from writing pieces for submission, the freelance work. I did this for a couple of reasons. One, because I just couldn't deal with the rejection letters or not hearing anything back. Two, because I was busy with my classes. At 17 credit hours and 32 hours a week at work, there just wasn't time for another job. Also, I was in a poetry class that was helping me become a stronger poet. It only seemed ideal to wait until I could learn new techniques ...

  2. The Life of a Wandering College Student (Part 10)

It's been a while. It was never my intention to be away for so long, but life happens sometimes and things don't go according to plan. However, in case people were wondering, I'm not dead.

    Let's see...
Little Peanut is doing much better. While she still has her issue every now and then, it happens fewer times and is not as bad. I'm still keeping a detailed record just in case, but I haven't even had a call from the vet about seeing her again. Whatever. My new biggest concern with ...

  3. The Life of a Wandering College Student (Part 6)

It seems to be that time again, so here I go.

So, I had to take little Peanut back to the vet because she was getting better and then we had a relapse. I took a picture of the problem area too, which turned out to be a good idea. So, instead of looking at a urinary tract infection, the vet thinks she has proctitis. Hoepefully, this time we can get things cleared up. She also now has two cuts on either side of her little nose. It must've happened during one of the fights she had with ...

  4. The Life of a Wandering College Student (Part 4)

So....Let's see. Well, I got a letter from my last college in the mail that said that I had made the Dean's List for the one semester that I was there. That was pretty exciting news, seeing as I had never made the Dean's List before. My mother has challenged me to do it again this semester at the new college. I really want to, but at the same time, I have no desire to do homework and I find the majority of my classes to be completely boring. Except Creative Writing, that is the only class that I ...

  5. The Life of a Wandering College Student (Part 3)

So today marks the first day of classes. Three days ago I had my orientation and got signed up for classes-5 of them, 14 credits. I also learned that not all of my financial aid has been made available, so with limited funds and low financial aid, I cannot purchase my textbooks until...I'm not even really sure. There's another issue as well, since I didn't know my class schedule until 3 days before classes started, I couldn't give my job my availability for when school starts until Saturday, so ...

  6. The Life of a Wandering College Student (Part 2)

I suppose I should update any readers that I might have. First, I would like to report that although I was struggling financially, overly stressed (though most of the time I managed not to let it consume me), busy, tired, and totally worn out, I still managed to survive all four of my classes. And not just survive, mind you, but I actually did quite well with two As, a B, and a B+ and an overall GPA of 3.57. There's a lesson here to be learned, I suppose, that even when we feel completely overwhelmed ...
