Synopsis

Middle East, the Historical Ruin Examination Facility of Ulk. It's been some years since the the huge explosion at Heaven's Gate or the so-called XX (Twin X). Also known as the worst historical disaster. Afterwards, due to an abnormal change in the geomagnetism in the mirror 'Sheltering Sky' that was concealed in the sky, the machines that were being controlled by computers could no longer be controlled. This forced an era upon the humans where they must lead a life using in their culture. The children of the man responsible for XX, Professor Enkido (Ekidu), Tatsuya and Kiyoko are looked upon by the society with cold eyes. Also, because of the huge debt their mother left behind, they lead a life where they run from debt collectors.
