A tweet from the official Twitter account for the Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai ("Haganai") anime confirmed on Sunday that production on a second season of the popular anime has been green-lit. It verified an earlier announcement made during a Haganai stage event at MF Bunko J imprint's 10th Anniversary Summer School Festival.
The anime follows Kodaka — a half-Japanese/half-British transfer student whose delinquent-like blonde hair and fierce eyes scare people — and a seemingly perpetually sullen girl named Yozora who together decide to form Rinjinbu, a club for misfits with hardly any friends.
The first season of Haganai premiered last October and ran through December. Consisting of twelve episodes (and an upcoming unaired episode being released as an "add-on disc" OVA), the anime adapts the first three light novel volumes and the beginning of the fourth. To date eight volumes of Yomi Hirasaka's on-going light novel series have been released.

Light Novel Hentai Oji to Waranarai Neko to Receive Anime Adaptation
On Sunday a tweet from the official Twitter account for MF Bunko J imprint's 10th Anniversary Summer School Festival event announced that Sou Sagara's Hentai Oji to Waranarai Neko light novel series will receive an anime adaptation.
Sagara launched the series last year under Media Factory's Bunko J imprint. Kantoku provides the surprisingly tame (considering the title does fall into the "ecchi" category) illustrations. Many fans claim that Kantoku's artwork is what really sets the series above the rest. The sixth volume will be released next month.
In addition to the light novel, Hentai Oji to Waranarai Neko has also been adapted into a manga. The manga is currently being released in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive magazine. Two tankobons have been published so far.
Sagara's Hentai Oji to Waranarai Neko focuses on second-year high school boy Yoto Yokodera. Yoto spends the majority of his time thinking "lustful thoughts," but no one acknowledges him as a pervert. One day he learns about a cat statue that supposedly grants wishes. Seizing on this chance, Yoto goes to pray that he will be able to express his lustful thoughts whenever and wherever he wants. However, while at the statue encounters Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi, a girl from his high school who has her own prayer — that she would not display her "real intentions" so readily.
