On Friday it was announced that a new anime series of Naoko Takeuchi's legendary manga Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon is being produced with an aim toward a summer 2013 release (!!!). The announcement was made at Japan Expo in France by pop idol group Momoiro Clover Z who will be performing the theme song. It was subsequently confirmed by publisher Kodansha and the author of the manga herself.
At this time it is not known if any of the original cast will be reprising their career-making roles. Also, although Momorio Clover Z sang the iconic theme song "Moonlight Densetsu" at the announcement it remains to be seen whether that song will be used in this new project. Considering how well-known "Moonlight Densetsu" is it is difficult to imagine them choosing some other song. It is one of those songs that every self-respecting anime fans knows.
Per Kodansha editor Fumio Osano, the only other details we have at this point is that this new Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon anime will not be a film, and the staff intends to release it worldwide simultaneously.

Anime Adaptation of Light Novel Series OreShura
And in less interesting news, today also brings word that yet another light novel adaptation has been green-lit. Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine has revealed that an anime will be made out of Yuji Yuji's exceedingly "original" light novel series Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru.
Apparently the series focuses on a boy named Eita Kido who has a childhood friend named Chiwa Harusaki who just-so-happens to be feuding with his girlfriend Masuzu Natsukawa for his affections.
Three manga adaptations of this utterly unique light novel series (note: sorry, I just had to say it) are already being published. A four-panel manga adaptation been running in Young Gangan since last October, another began serialization in Monthly Gangan Joker last summer, and the third is a spin-off entitled Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru+H set to debut this month.
