An advertisement from Japanese publisher Kadokawa Shoten has revealed that an anime adaptation of Ryō Ikehata's Light Novel series Aru Zombie Shōjo no Sainan (trans. "The Misfortune of a Certain Zombie Girl") has been green-lit for production. Ikehata's previous works include the novelization of the Blood+ television anime.
His new story revolves around the ubiquitous beautiful girl who, aside from having a ridiculous name—it's Euphrosyne but she's called "Yufurojiin"—suddenly wakes up one day to find herself in a mysterious underground archive of some university. She is promptly told by a maid (...seriously?) named Aruma to "kill the students and retrieve the 'Secret Stone'" (...of course she is).
In what can only be interpreted as a blatant attempt to capitalize on the recent zombie trend, Kadokawa's Sneaker Bunko imprint will publish the first two volumes of the Aru Zombie Shoujo no Sainan light novel series later this week.

Two Hour One Piece Character-Oriented Nami Special
According to a recent announcement by Toei Animation an all-new One Piece television special will air on Saturday, August 25th at 9:00 p.m. The longwinded title of this special is One Piece Episode of Nami: Kokaishi no Namida to Nakama no Kizuna (trans. "One Piece Episode of Nami: Tears of a Navigator and the Bonds of Friends"). It will feature all-new animation.
The featured story will coincide with the on-going anime's Fishman Island's arc. In the upcoming special Nami steals the Merry Go (trans. Going Merry) pirate ship from Monkey D. Luffy and the rest of her shipmates, seemingly abandoning them without a word. Luffy and the others give chase and eventually track Nami to Cocoyasi Village (Coco Village).
The head writer of the television anime, Hirohiko Uesaka, is credited with the special's script so fans can rest assured that plot integrity will be maintained.
