Color coding for episodes

Ok, so basicly i think there should be some kind of color coding system for the episodes of a series, like a color for a episode being a normal one ,a filler , a special episode or a broken video.

This would probably make watching long running series easier seeing as they have alot of fillers, special episodes, and people might stop complaining about fillers because they just have to look at the color of the link for the episode to find out, instead of buffering it.

and if not for broken videos, simply no. Just the big titles alone can already mark a lot of color changes with this and the filler mostly applies with those mainstream alone. It is not necessary to go to such measure of changes here just because of the annoying fillers. And about the OVA/Special, the concern for that OS uploaders take measures the usage of new separate titles for such. At least most of uploaders that is.

Filler episode color coding is not only unnecessary but it's more work on either the uploader or the mod that assigns the color, I'll use myself as an example, I've never watch One piece and don't have a clue what's actual story from filler (watching numerous episode to find out is too time consuming), and keep in mind everything is voluntary work. Even if we were to get a specific person for this the time it would take after the uploader sent the link>confirmation via system msg>then placing the color would be too long. I don't even see this as practical.
Normal episode, since I eliminated the fillers and special there's no need for a color coding of this.

Well, ok first that repored video thread is pretty new so i dont really see the point in keeping track of it and i doubt many other people will keep track of it...

Secondly you didnt say anything about cross overs or speical christmas or easter episode and they are just uploaded and addind to the anime that they are for.

Third i dont know anything about uploading, but im pretty sure adding one small thing to the ulpoading process wont make it any longer then it already is.. e.g. there could be a tick box for a "normal episode" "filler episode" and "special" episode and ticking one of those boxes would change the link to the corresponding color.

also one more thing here, whats the point in uploading something that you arent even interested in?

Regardless, the thread is there and has a more thought out idea on how the "broken video notice" should be put in place, read it. It was created first.

Your very point contradicts itself. Okay you didn't understand fully, so I'll explain, even with the tick box, who would check it? If the uploader or the mod doesn't know what's filler from story, this entails a third party that'll undoubtedly make the process longer. When you see the system msg appearing in the sb it's not because the uploader just sent the links, those links might have been there from 5hrs to over 24hrs (avg time) sometimes sooner or longer. So then we need another person responsible for fixing the color, it'll be another wait for that person to be online. Now the link will need to be processed by 2 different persons. There's no guarantee that a confirmation mod will know all anime that has filler.

also one more thing here, whats the point in uploading something that you arent even interested in?

Asking an uploader that is like asking the very purpose of uploading and it's simply to help otaku-streamers. If I don't do it, who will? Other uploaders and the admins are very busy.The page will be left without an update leaving over 1000 members disappointed.

Im probably going to sound like a ass here, but it looks like you just copied and pasted something you said before and put a differant link there. the special episodes im talking about arent the ones that are on dvds, cross overs and holiday specials are usualy not on dvds(im assuming that anyway) so they wouldnt be uploaded as something seperate to the anime. and if you're like me and dont care about episodes that arent related to the story you dont want to waste time buffering them.

If the anime isn't labelled as a special/Ova/music then isn't uploaded as that; how it's labelled on ANN, etc. that's how it's added. You just made an entire post based on an assumption, don't worry I welcome the debate but I grow tired. What is a "wikipeadias"? If you are going to say certain info can be found certain websites then you should atleast source it properly. Secondly, the someone that'll be notifying the uploader/mod needs to be a reliable source you must consider when he'll be online and editing to add the color for each anime like that is an additional work for the person in charge, the forums as it is, is already in short supply of moderation. Consider the over 10000 uploads we already have and the filtering out of normal and filler. Like you said I'm already starting to repeat myself, if you can't understand what I'm saying then that's okay, I have already disagreed to suggestion and have nothing more to say, let's leave it at that.

pengu, I have nothing against you, and once again you didn't understand. I know you meant wikipedia, what you didn't prove is your source address that has the filler vs normal episode and I don't mean just wikipedia.org, I mean example wikipedia.org/spam/onepiece/fillersvsnormal/etc..; actual reference. Since this is your suggestion you should have all the necessity as to how it will be put it place, how it'll affect the community etc. If you can provide these then I'll happily keep your thread alive.

Also you're making it seem like it would take alot of effort to label episodes as fillers so, what if you could just type in something like episode 200-223 and tick the filler episode box, that would make it be easier on your part.

Hmm, Idk how many of our current anime have filler but now that everything's elaborated in details, it can be worth a second thought. It calls for constant checking, I still think it's not necessary however, your thread stands a better chance now, let's see where it goes.
