Just some food for thought for the upcoming "Great Gaming Console War"

In the past:
Playstation 3 was first released at November 17 2006
Prices at
US$499.99 (20 GB)
US$599.99 (60 GB)

Xbox 360 was first released at November 16 2005
Prices at
US$299.99 (Core)
US$399.99 (Premium – 20 GB)

Nintendo Wii was first released at November 19 2006
Prices at
US$199.99

Note: The price of Playstation 3 back then is $499.99 for only 20GB. $599.99 for the extra 40GB. Nobody complained when Playstation 3 is doing the extra price tag. Now Xbox ONE is doing it (US$499) and everybody loses their minds.

In the Past:
Playstation 3
CPU: Cell Broadband Engine (3.2 GHz Power Architecture-based PPE with seven 3.2 GHz SPEs)
GPU: 550 MHz RSX 'Reality Synthesizer'

Xbox 360
CPU: 3.2 GHz IBM PowerPC tri-core codenamed "Xenon"
GPU: 500 MHz codenamed "Xenos" (ATI custom design)

Nintendo Wii
CPU: 729 MHz PowerPC based IBM "Broadway"
GPU: 243 MHz ATI "Hollywood"

Note: Playstation 3 is superior in Specs than Xbox 360 based on these numbers. However I recently discovered this video when browsing past E3 events.

Feel free to watch these videos.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_f_ahmAESI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9dKdxaYaas
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvMGKnaa3OA

I am no fanboy of any gaming console. I have them all. I just want to share what I know so far.

Now going back to the present time (or future)

Xbox ONE
Price: USD$499

Playstation 4
Price: US$399

Wii U
Price:
US$299.99 (Basic)
US$349.99 (Deluxe/Premium Model)

Note: Yeah I know I kept on adding Nintendo here. He is still a contender in the 8th Generation Gaming console war. If you realize by now, Sony will imitate this tablet controller technology just like the Wii controller got ripped off.
Imagine Sony Tablet PC + Playstation 4 would be a WTF price tag to your face. Well if you go for Microsoft using Microsoft Xbox ONE + Microsoft Surface, it's still a bleeding price tag. So no need to compare prices.

Present time again:

Playstation 4:
CPU: Octa-Core (2 Quad-Core Jaguar modules) AMD x86-64 "Jaguar" @ 1.6 GHz
GPU: Custom AMD Radeon 1152 shaders @ 800 MHz (1.84 TFLOP/s)

Xbox ONE
CPU: 1.6Ghz variant of the 8-core Jaguar x86-64 octa-core CPU
GPU: Custom AMD Radeon 768 shaders @ 800 MHz (1.23 TFLOP/s)

Wii U
CPU: Tri-Core IBM PowerPC "Espresso" @ 1.24 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon "Latte" GPGPU 320 shaders @ 550 Mhz (0.35 TFLOP/s)

Note: Looking at the specs, Nintendo is far behind the numbers. However Nintendo is not the slowest and the cheapest console in this race. Google's Android Ouya has joined the Great Gaming Console War.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouya

Price: $99 USD
CPU: 1.7 GHz Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A9
GPU: nVidia GeForce ULP @ 520 MHz (12.48 GFLOPS)

Both Playstation 4 and Xbox ONE claims they can support display up 4K resolution.
The cheapest TV that has 4K display is Changhong UD55B6000i that costs around $1,600 USD. Probably only a few game titles would be rendered in 4K resolution. It would be pricey to develop a game that uses 4K resolution.

You decide.

Hey everyone, i wanted to post this thread to boost the awareness of a certain amazing project that is going on for the past 2 years, it started with a person recording his playthrough of the Oreimo portable and posting it on youtube with english subtitles but since then it became a full fledged project in translating this game and making a patch, so far they have translated the common route and the Kuroneko route on Disc 1 (Disc 2 is a continuation of a certain route kind of like Clannad afterstory, they are recruiting for the translation work on Disc 2 right now)

Recruiting for Disc 2 now :3

The game itself is a visual novel for the PSP system, you start on a common route and follow the story while different girls get introduced to you and after a while while picking the correct options you will enter a specific girls route (so far only Kuroneko's has been translated)

That is what the gameplay mostly looks like, characters show up on screen and you read the dialogue that appears although there is a bit of a difference between a normal visual novel and this one, it uses a special graphics engine which actually makes the characters move and express a lot better, ill link a video at the end if you want to check a sample out.

And if anyone has doubts that this game wont be good due to the multiple route thing then don't worry as the writer himself has wrote all the routes for this game, but back to the main point it would be awesome if you could help the project out and even if you can't help in translating you can help by spreading the word like i have right now.

http://notcliche.com/ziddy/ <--- This is the translation project website feel free to take a look.

So please help out anyway you can

As the topic name states please list Your favorite Animal Crossing item.
Also please tell us what game it's from (example: New Leaf, Wild World, City Folk, etc, etc.)
and how you obtained it.
I'll go first to show how it would look.
Mine is The Triforce from New Leaf. It plays the Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past opening when you use it in your room. It also does the spinning thing that the Triforce did at the title screen of the game.
I got it by turning in a Lucky Ticket that I got from a Fortune Cookie in Nookling Junction for 2 play coins.
I look forward to the responses to this thread and many posts.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
