How do you deal with your loneliness

Rate this Entry
I personally think any/every person male or female who watches anime is a lonely human being. I am not excluded from this observation. I think in-order to watch anime or read manga one must have a substantial amount of time/energy on their hands or numbs. Time and energy that could be spent hanging out with friends or with strangers. I personally don't consider myself an otaku or any slang meaning outsider or otherwise. But alas it's not up to me to decide. I am more than anything a fan of anime, manga, cosplay and animation. So, with my in-ability to have a single linear thought aside. How do you deal with your loneliness??

Lolololololol, oh man, that first line. Guess I shouldn't laugh, I mean it is half true what you just said there. That's a dangerous assumption to make though, you might get some people angry with that so be careful. But chyeah, you're also half wrong. Please listen as I try to convince you that I'm not forever alone.

Some people just don't like hanging out with other people! Like me! You see, it's not that I isolate myself to spite the ignorant masses, I just don't think I'm being honest with myself or other people by hanging out with them. I don't really like them and I could be doing other things and it's not like I'm never going to hang out with them ever again. I'm alone, but I'm not lonely. [I WISH THERE WERE PEOPLE AT MY SCHOOL THAT REALY UNDERSTOOD ME BUT I'LL BE FINE]

Another way I make time for anime/manga stuff is by scheduling my time well. If I can make it so that not a single minute of my time is wasted, I'll surely find time to enjoy myself. [I DON'T DO HOMEWORK AND I DON'T STUDY, MY LIFE IS GOING NOWHERE]

Eh, loneliness? It's just something you get used to. It's not a big deal though, other people make as many problems as they solve. The problem with being alone is that you're not supposed to be. Not only 'cuz people go crazy when they're alone, you can't love other people when you're alone either. Unless you're loving them by keeping yourself alone, and you can't be alone all the time even if you did do that.

My point is... It's not good for you and you should do something about it. That's why people made sites like this, right? Lol, so that us otaku can come together and not be lonely? xD

LOL!!! OHMIGOSH!!! When I read the tittle/first line I was swearing up and down this was going to be something wrong (perverted)!!! But . . . I was wrong.
Anyways. So your saying that most otaku's (even though you don't call yourself one . . . you still kinda are) are mainly otaku's BECAUSE they have do much free time? I need to say na. cause I'm as busy as a bee, but probably the biggest fangirl/otaku known to people who know me! And thats a lot to say!!

I see loneliness as a blank slate, like a white piece of paper on an artist's easel. It's always there in the background for everyone unless the space is filled with something to distract from feeling lonesome. It's always there because it's part of who we are when we're on our own. Yeah, mental stimulation from watching anime is a hobby we all share, but it's reaching out to others to share humanity (or commiserate) that I think helps. So, talking to people in blogs and chats counts. I always like to do plays or catch up with my brother because I know it keeps me social.

But loneliness is different for everyone and it does different things to us. It's the blank slate, it doesn't define you. Paint something else on top and try new "styles".

I can see how one would think this would a detailed thread on the benefits of self-gratification; but sadly i'm not that creative (not that it would take much thought). I was merely sharing my ignorant/stereotypical notion that most (a majority) of otakus are lonely hermit people. Whom spend their time doing something that they love, whether it be watching anime, reading manga, dressing in cosplay, or hanging out with other otakus (lonely people). Not that there's anything wrong with that~

well hey, people who prefer to be one-on-one with their computer lack face-to-face time. Pretty much!
