I like to think of Attack on Titan as more on an emerging vein of near human extinction genre than a comparison to Zombie Apocalypse. The two are similar, but not enough to consider Attack on Titan as derivative of Zombie Apocalypse. In similar thought lines of comparison though, reminds me a touch of Gurren Lagann's first episodes where humanity has been run to near extinction and forced to live underground and never go to the surface or giant mechs will kill them. Though we know that Gurren Lagann, by comparison, is also far more positive and light hearted most of the time.

I'm in the same boat as you man... my highschool buddies are hanging out with each other and even invite the people who are far away... posting pictures... not knowing that there's a guy nearby who's looking at those pictures with hurt...

In college I found a cool group of bros who took me in... They're a little bit of a bad influence but they've always respected my abstinence until I decided to drink... They're cool people... We play games, watch anime, series... It's the cool group of people I've always wanted...

The leader of the group also acts like the cool big brother I never had...

So yeah...

'cause I have scars left by fake/stupid "friends", just the ones that flows with the momentary hits then abandon the "unable-to-flow-with-the-crowd" people (like me ... and you... ...sigh...)
