Hey there I'm Coldground93 or just coldie or cold. In my opinion, this season's lineups are not that good (some beg to differ) so it left me no choice but to withdraw to the Manga World. And while I'm here I found some interesting mangas that I would like to share with you all... I would also share what I think about each of them. I might be bias so don't rely on them hahah :D

so here it is::::

1.) Aphorism
http://s3.mangareader.net/cover/aphorism/aphorism-l0.jpg

Plot: Naraka High School, is a seemingly normal school. However, unknown to the public is the cruel truth of what really goes on in the school's halls. Rather than studying, students are forced to struggle for their very survival. And the strong bonds of friendship may be the only difference between life and death.

My thoughts: First, I didn't expect it to be gory. You could compare the gore factor to Deadman Wonderland. Second, their abilities. I think it's kinda cool. Choosing a word for yourself and using it to battle. I might not make any sense right now but if you read it, you'll know. Lastly, the story. It's a typical action, school life shonen manga. It only has 14 chapters so the plot isn't so grim yet but some foreshadowing indicates that it'll be.

2.) D-Frag
http://s4.mangareader.net/cover/d-frag/d-frag-l0.jpg

Plot: Kazama Kenji likes to believe he is something of a delinquent. Moreover, others seem to like to agree that he is. Of course, Kenji's gang finds their way to a group of four not-so-normal girls - Chitose, Sakura, Minami and Roka - and all at once, whatever reputation he may have, is nothing compared to the outrageous behaviour of the girls. Shanghaied into joining their club, what will happen to his everday life from that point on?

My Thoughts: The story is just the everyday life of Kazama Kenji with the eccentric members of The Game Creator Club.. (but they're really not making any games). But don't let it fool you. This manga is hella crazy. The craziness is SHAFT quality I tell you, SHAFT QUALITY!!! *ehem* so anyway I recommend this to anyone looking for a good laugh.

3.) Enigma
http://s4.mangareader.net/cover/enigma/enigma-l0.jpg

Plot: Haiba Sumio is a student at a Tokyo High School with an interesting ability... He occasionally falls asleep and wakes up with premonitions of the future written out on his "Dream Diary". With this ability, Sumio helps out people in trouble before anything bad happens, until one day when his peaceful life completely changes.

My Thoughts: Most of you surely know this since it came from Weekly Jump. I would say that this is a mind-battle manga. Using Sumio's and his allies` talents, they overcome any obstacles in their way. on the side note, Their talent are really creative (except for the future predicting). I applaud Sakaki Kenji-sensei for this. The manga currently has 45 chapter and it's only the 1st arc and start of the 2nd. If you like Death Note, you might want to try this out.

4.) Absorb:Ability
http://s5.mangareader.net/cover/absorb-ability/absorb-ability-l0.jpg

Plot: Japan wields the power of a new form of influenza so lethal that only one person out of a million can survive an infection. Kazuma, a man able to withstand the infection of the unknown virus, "Cherubim [kerubimu]," has obtained the power to save his twin sister from facing the influenza! While Kazuma saves other people's suffering by using his new power, he will also encounter many surprising and painful things… A serious and comedic story of new abilities begins!!

My thoughts: The manga only has 5 chapters in it so the direction isn't clear yet. Retro-Virus, a virus that alters and rewrites a person's DNA to transfrom them into viscous, violent and bloodthristy monstrosities. (okay I exaggerated.) The protagonist Kazuma obtained a power to cure a person infected with retro-virus. In the process, he obtains the power of that person. Base on that I would say that the manga would go to the physical action approach. As I said earlier, it only has 5 chapters so you might want to read the first 3 chapters and wait for more release. I don't think I have something to compare Absorb:Ability in my list

5.) Saint Oniisan
http://s5.mangareader.net/cover/saint-oniisan/saint-oniisan-l0.jpg

Plot: Saint Oniisan is slice-of-life or divine-life, tale of Jesus and Buddha as they try to experience the modern world, in this case, Japan. The manga places a funny twist on religion, attitudes, culture and customs in Japan through the eyes of Jesus and Buddha.
You see Jesus and Buddha experiencing Asakusa, public baths, theme parks, and the internet. Throughout the manga, we get a little history of their divine greatness only to see their apparent insignificance in modern Japanese society. Suffice to say, before people can recognize that they’re actually Jesus and Buddha, people think of them as someone who looks like Johnny Depp or a guy with a button on his forehead. For real.

My Thoughts: The plot says it all, What if Jesus and Buddha try living in modern day Japan. Some people might find this manga revolting, insulting, disturbing etc. but it only aims to make us laugh so cut it some slack. You could compare it to Arakawa Under the Bridge.

6.) Iris Zero
http://s2.mangareader.net/cover/iris-zero/iris-zero-l0.jpg

Plot: In a world where every boy and girl has a special power called Iris, Toru who, as a result of not having any kind of special power, was bullied from a young age, lives by his motto: “low exposure” – to live without standing out. But his peaceful school life changes when he receives a certain "Confession" from the schools most popular girl, Koyuki. His motto begins to shake!!

The school fantasy story that shakes the heart begins with their meeting.

My Thoughts: I actually found this manga a few months ago. I would say it's really interesting. The Iris, they're awesome I wish I had one :D . You might find some things unclear like "where the hell does Iris come from?" . So if you like baka-test, you might like this

that's it. If I find more, I'll add it here

Psyren...

i think most of you know this but for those who don't, you should check it out. It's already completed which is kinda sad for me since I don't get that feeling of looking forward for the next chapter but I'm satisfied with the ending.

Whoa, all the titles you mentioned are some that I never even heard of before.... that makes me less of an otaku... *darn it...... T.T

The story of 'D-frag' seems interesting. I could really go for a laugh right now.. sadly, that's the only manga I find worth reading right now.
Lately, I've only been finding and reading completed manga titles.... unfortunately the endings were a bit suck-ish.

I'll check out 'D-frag' though.

hey guys, been a while. well i found another good manga,

Zettai Joousei or Absolute Queen Regnant

http://s3.mangareader.net/cover/zettai-joousei/zettai-joousei-l0.jpg

Plot :The male lead has gynophobia (fear of woman) due to a traumatic experience. Under his sister, who is a nun with little brother-complex,'s recommendation, he entered a previously all female-school that now has 9:1 female to male ratio. This is a story of that man with the Queen of the school, who has demanded him to work for her as her secretary.

My thoughts : The story is simple. I know it's quite cliche but like in my sig, it's always about the delivery and they do great in that plus it's funny. the manga is only 10 chapters long (freakkin why!?!!?, when i finally found a good manga to read!!) *ahem*, anyway i recommend this for people who wants a good laugh.

the ending is open and it only ended last july so fingers crossed on that.

I don't want my thread to be lost in the sea of pages so I'm here to update my list

MX0

http://s2.mangareader.net/cover/mx0/mx0-l0.jpg

Plot: The story starts off with a flashback, Kuzumi Taiga is asked at his school entrance interview what he would do if he could use magic. "Take over the world" is his reply, followed by an outburst of laughter from a very cute girl. Not much remains in his memory after those events, but he does remember the girl and she is somehow involved in him failing to enter the school of his choice. Wandering around outside of aforementioned school the next day, he gets mistaken for a student ditching class by one of the teachers, and get's pulled into the school through a magic barrier he did not notice. He is in fact a student with no magical ability at all, and it just so happens this is a magic school.

My Thought: Imagine that you are studying in a magic school but you don't have any magic talents and somehow, people respect or fear you because you are known to be a top class magician. That's what Kuzumi Taiga's situation is. The manga tells the story of how Taiga without any magic talents whatsoever managed to survive in a magical school with it's magic exams and contests. Sadly, such an amazing manga ended horribly. Still, It's a good read

HAJIMETE NO AKU

http://s5.mangareader.net/cover/hajimete-no-aku/hajimete-no-aku-l0.jpg

Plot: In the spring of Kyoko s first year in high school, Eiko, a girl like a sister to her, returns with her younger brother, Jiro. The return is not that big of a deal, but Jiro has it in his head that he wants to operate on Kyoko! And, what is even more, the two of them are actually from an organization bent on destroying world peace! As if high school did not have enough problems already, now she has to deal with these two living with her.

My Thoughts: Well it is a gag manga, lots of colorful characters and such. It depicts of how Jiro tries to "modify" Kyoko in every chance he gets but always thwarted by Kyoko herself. It also follow the relationship between Kyoko and Jiro, from being hostile cousins, to being like-siblings and possibly lovers.
BTW it will also destroy your image of what an "evil organization" is

Well, updating my list.. this time, i'm adding mangas from the ever famous weekly shounen jump. been reading this stuff from awhile now. i just decided to share it with you all. These mangas may be overlooked because of the BIG 4 and i think they deserve recognition...

Nisekoi

http://s3.mangareader.net/cover/nisekoi/nisekoi-l0.jpg

Plot:Ichijou Raku is an honor student with outstanding grades and an admirable conduct. He has a female childhood friend named Kirisaki Chitoge who has slightly better grades than him, or so he says. They haven't been getting along since the day of Christmas after they gave each other gifts, and they also have opposite taste of things. Their families are currently on a war because of business rivalry, sure they are really lovey-dovey with each other, the followers of each party followed them on their date, from watching movies, to singing in the karaoke bar, shopping and in the amusement park. Will the two of them become official lovers and make their families get along? Or will their families continue to fight and create many troubles along with it?

My thoughts: It's fun read I guess.. i would say it's cliche but it's that really bad? There are plenty of laughs here and there (specially the first chapters XD).

Kurogane

http://s4.mangareader.net/cover/kurogane/kurogane-l0.jpg

Plot: Kurogane Hiroto is in high school, where he is academically the top of his class but literally the worst in physical activity. Born with a weak body, he has no endurance, speed nor strength and Hiroto wants nothing more than to be a hero. Fate teases him by giving him phenomenal eye sight, which allows him to see well beyond anyone else in sports, but his body is not able to react to any of it. He learns from his friend Shiratori, who wants to recruit him for the Kendo team, about a rumor about a ghost named Tojo Sayuri, who wields a katana and haunts an ally in the city. Half curious, Hiroto goes there only to find that the ghost is real and that Tojo Sayuri has been looking for a successor to her Sakura sword style for 150 years. Sayuri chooses him as the successor after being able to dodge her attack and forces him to learn the Sakura style. Even with the help of the ancient swordsman ghost, Hiroto has to overcome his poor motor skills in order to be the hero he always wanted to be.

My Thoughts: The manga is about kendo. I read the oneshot of it and ever since I've been following this manga. Lately, I'm reading fantasy action manga so this is kinda refreshing. The story is kinda predictable though and is quite slow. Plus the update is irregular for some reason.

Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa

http://s3.mangareader.net/cover/kagami-no-kuni-no-harisugawa/kagami-no-kuni-no-harisugawa-l0.jpg

Plot: "Boys are creatures whose sight will follow the girl they like wherever she is. And if there it comes the chance that the boy realizes that the girl is in danger, if he is able to save her they will feel the ultimate bliss in life" is something that Harisugawa Tetsu has pointed out, and true enough he has always been following with his eyes the girl named Satomi Mao.

Thanks to certain details in their childhood, Satomi has always been friendly with Harisugawa and she has a friendly budding relationship, completely unaware of Tetsu's feelings for her. Tetsu for his part preferred to play the friend part and keeps his feelings hidden for the sake of not endangering the closeness that they already have, ever since he was young Tetsu had believed that if he can build little by little a good relationship with Mao, he will get to the point where he can confidently confess to Mao and not get rejected, Tetsu has always been waiting for his one true chance without getting too close to Mao by accident.

At first it seems that this "stalemate" will never be broken; however, one day Mao sees a strange mirror in an thrift store and for some reason she feels that she must have that mirror. Mao buys the mirror without thinking twice about it.... But she is completely unaware that the mirror will change forever Tetsu's life as well as her own.

My Thoughts: It's a really good manga but it's so short. It's made by Kano Yasuhiro-sensei, the same maker of Mx0. He makes such great mangas, a real wonder why he always got axed. It's probably the reason why he made this short. I think the next chapter is the final one.

Updating bzzzt, bzzzt, bzzzt,

Fujimura-kun Mates

http://s4.mangareader.net/cover/fujimura-kun-mates/fujimura-kun-mates-l0.jpg

Plot: Fujimura is a loner delinquent at his school. Feared by his classmates since the first day of high school, he's had no friends and usually ditches class. But even his standoffish nature can't hold up when a class representative with a few screws loose comes after him! And two more class representatives. They're a few cards short of a full deck too. (Actually, he's more like the tsukkomi in a world of boke.)

Thoughts: I really can't say anything beside that this manga is so freakin random and crazy. It's similar to D-frag in many ways.

Yankee-kun to Megane-chan

http://s2.mangareader.net/cover/yankee-kun-to-megane-chan/yankee-kun-to-megane-chan-l0.jpg

Plot: Shinagawa Daichi is a high school delinquent who just wants to be left alone. However, class rep Adachi Hana will stop at nothing to get him to go on the upcoming Social Studies field trip. What are her true motives behind getting a yankee like Shinagawa to go on such a thing?

Thoughts: I'm reading this for a long time and I'm not sure if this is popular or not so might as well put it here. The story really is about Adachi, an ex-deliquent, pulls Shinigawa, a current deliquent, into her "living-a-normal-student-life" charade.

After a verrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyy long absence.. i'll be updating this thread :goodjob:

Cage of Eden
http://m.mhcdn.net/store/manga/5357/cover.jpg?v=1336903922

Plot: Akira and his classmates are on a field trip back home from Guam, while on flight there a turbulance and the plane crashes on an uncharted island inhabited by prehistoric species thought to be long extinct. The battle for survival in a nightmarish island begins.

My Thoughts: One of my favorites and it's an another entry from the Weekly Shounen Jump. The setting is very similar to Jurassic Park.. but instead of scientists/parents looking for their lost child, the main characters are middle school Japanese students. And instead of Dinosaurs, gigantic mammals, carnivorous birds and other ferocious monstrosities roam the inhabited island.

Don't let the image fool you. It's a violent and gory manga

Hells Kitchen
http://m.mhcdn.net/store/manga/9949/cover.jpg?v=1337306328

Plot: Dogma, the Earl of Poor eating comes to train high school student Satoru into the perfect chef. But what awaits Satoru at the end of his training is only death. His teacher is not an ordinary noble but a demon from hell who promises to eat his soul.

My Thoughts: The manga is funny due to Dogma's sadistic antics. The manga is all about cooking so if you're interested in that, you should check this out plus it's very educative.

Well I'll come back soon. Ciao for now... *fades*

Well here's another update....

Girls of the Wild's

http://m.mhcdn.net/store/manga/9816/cover.jpg?v=1337737261

Plot: Wilds high, it has a history of 42 years as a fighting specialist all girls private highschool meant solely for the elite. The place Wilds-League is held, the most popular event in the country, the only place in the world where teenage girls have brutal fights with their lives. This year has been changed into a mixed gender school. The only male student- Song Jae Gu, has been granted a full 3-year scholarship regardless of grades. Being someone who had to spend every moment working or taking care of his two younger brothers, he accepted. However, the scholarship was granted with the sole condition he does not leave.

My thoughts: I think it's a fighting manhwa (yep it's a korean manga so read from right to left) but there's no real action yet, It currently focuses on the harem (He's the only guy on school so what do you expect?)and comedy side of the story.

Some manga site refer it as "Girl the Wild's"

Kongou Banchou

http://m.mhcdn.net/store/manga/5049/cover.jpg?v=1337733122

Plot: Akira Kongou is looking to take down the "23 district project" which involves "banchou" from 23 districts of Tokyo fighting for the right to control Japan. Without meaning to, he becomes a participant with the alias Kongou Banchou and must take down other banchou while searching for the leaders of the project.

My Thoughts: It's a downright old school action manga, I recommend this for someone who's looking for old style manga art. The main character is very overpowered, it's hilarious... and he likes pudding
