Prologue: Half-Japanese Half-American Boy

It was amazing, that's all I could say, when I saw her and the magnificent Violin they look like close friends. I could only laugh at myself for thinking that it was impossible for someone to be friends with an instrument but now I realize it can be your greatest friend who can sing what your heart is wishing. It all started when I was in High School in Japan.

"Keith." Called a male's voice. "Keith!"

A 16 year old half japanese half american blonde haired boy looked sideways to see who it was who called him. "Motoharu? What do you want?" He asked his friend coldly.

"Keith are you asleep or something? Did you stayed up all night studying?" His friend named Motoharu Shibuya a black haired boy, teased him.

He glared at his friend. "What do you want?" He asked again ignoring his friend's tease.

"Didn't you hear the school bell signaling lunch break?" Motoharu asked grinning.

He didn't answer, he stood up and picked up his book then walked out of the classroom.

"Wait up!" Motoharu ran towards him.

"I'm going to skip lunch today and go to the library, so don't bother following me." With that he left the classroom.

Motoharu sighed. "He never changes..." He looked behind him. "I don't understand why you look up to him, Mizu-chan."

"Stop calling me Mizu-chan, Shibuya-kun!" Shouted a brown haired girl. "Call me Mizuhara not Mizu-chan!" Ayami Mizuhara, age 16.

"Alright, alright..." Motoharu sighed. "Oh by the way what's that?" He asked pointing on a instrument case.

"This?" She held up the instrument case. "This is a Violin."

"Violin? Cool you play that instrument?"

"Just now, my family has a rule that once a member of our family turns 16 he or she must pick an instrument to play."

"I see, so you choose the Violin, Mizuhara."

Ayami nodded. "Well then I'll go to the rooftop to practice. See you." With that she left.

Keith Takahashi walked down the hallways, he hated walking in the hallways because girls are always looking at him. He sighed and walked faster. It's been 5 years since he moved to Japan, his parents: A Japanese father and an American mother, left him in his aunt and uncle's care because of work. They promised him that they will come back by the time he finished High School.

People in Japan call him 'bishounen' a word which meant pretty boy because of that he became a target of confessions and love letters. This annoyed him, so he has no choice but to be cold towards everybody.

He stood before the library door and opened it. Just when I thought I can have some quiet time to read a book. With a sigh he closed the door and decided to go to the rooftop. The library was full of girls waiting for him.

He went to the rooftop but before he opened the door, he heard a sound. What is that? He opened the door and his new life started.

CHAPTER 1: The Violin

I quickly froze my right hand is still on the knob of the door I just opened. What's this? I thought still bewildered with the sound I was hearing. I never heard anything beautiful like this... Unknown to me the girl who was playing the instrument is now looking at me.

"Takahashi-kun?" A familiar female voice called out to me as I heard the music stopped.

"Mizuhara-san?" I called out her name knowing who she is. She is Ayami Mizuhara. Like me she's a child of a rich family but her personality is something that you won't expect from a daughter of a rich family, though she can be very formal especially to me. She always wear a smile and she's cheerful.

"What are you doing here?" She asked me as she placed the instrument she was playing, on the bench.

It took some time to regain myself, I let go of the door knob and walked outside. "I'm sorry did I disturb you?" I asked formally.

She shook her head and smiled at me. "No, you didn't. By the way why are you here? Didn't you say that you're going to the library?"

"The library is over-crowded." I explained with my usual cold and formal voice, I don't want to let her see my surprised and confused expression.

She giggled. "By over-crowded you mean the girls who are waiting for you?"

I sighed not wanting to answer her question, I turned around to the door and walked not saying a word to my classmate, hoping that this gesture will say to her 'Please continue practicing.' but my gesture gave her an opposite reaction since she spoke.

"Takahashi-kun, you can use this place to study I'll find another place where I can practice."

I looked over my shoulder, seeing her packing up her instrument. I sighed inwardly thinking Of course she's going to say that after seeing me walking towards the door, after all I'm the 'well-known-easily-angered-cold boy'. and I'm planning to keep that title for the rest of my high-school life. I looked back to the door and walked in, leaving her alone.

I went back to the classroom finding Motoharu and my other friends eating together, I walked towards my seat but I was stopped by a voice.

"Um, excuse me, is class representative Ayami Mizuhara here?" Said a girl's voice.

I turned around, the girl almost jumped back when she saw me, I sighed inwardly again. "She's not here."

"T-then is the assistant class representative present?" She asked me.

"I'm the assistant class representative. Why are you looking for the class representative?"

She handed me a notebook labeled '1-A'. "Here's the homeroom project for today."

I took the notebook and she bowed. "I'll be excusing myself." With that she left. I walked towards my desk, placing the notebook on my table. I sat down on my chair and opened the notebook, since it is one of my duty to help the class representative I might as well read this notebook.

After a while Mizuhara came back to the classroom, she sat down on her chair and placed the instrument case under her table. I stood up holding the notebook, I walked towards her and stood beside her while I handed to her the notebook, she looked up to me. "The homeroom project for today." I explained. She took the notebook and thanked me, she began reading the notebook. "It seems today's job is doubled want me to help you out?" I added.

She stopped reading and looked at me with a smile. "If it isn't a bother to you Takahashi-kun."

"It is, but I have no choice to help you since it's part of my duty as assistant class representative to help you." I explained. "Well then, I'll talk to you later." I turned around.

"Takahashi-kun, do you like the violin?"

I looked at her. "What are you talking about?" Violin? What is she talking about?

"Earlier when I was playing it, you seem to be enjoying the sound you're hearing."

So the instrument she was playing is called 'violin', I got to admit I enjoyed it but... "Please don't say unecessary things." With that I returned to my seat.
