For me, I prefer to watch only anime because I once read kaichou wa maid sama before the anime is released but when I watch it, I'm not so excited because I already know the storyline~ What do you guys think?

Well its hard to decide what to read on manga and what to watch on anime. I personally watch anime first before the manga. But then again manga like TWGOK, and Ao no Exorcist(Deadman Wonderland should be included but I didnt continue it cause I was waiting for the anime to finish so that the story would be refresh on my mind) is being watch and read by me at the same time even having the SAME(mostly) turn of events. Since that I am amaze at the story and wants to see the animation.
But then again there are manga which are better than the anime. If I would name some, Shingetsutan Tsukihime and Yumekui Merry. Its true that Shingetsutan Tsukihime is a VN based anime but the manga story is the same as the anime BUT what lacks the anime lacks is being shown in the manga(yes same story). While on Yumekui Merry, it is a manga based anime yet a lot of part being changed. Story wise the manga of Yumekui Merry is better.
With that said,I more prefer manga over anime lately but I still watch more anime cause Ive been trying to lessen my anime list to watch as long as possible.

In my case, whenever I am caught up in reading mangas, the anime version would suck =__= but if I watch animes first, the mangas would suck. So I better just choose one before reading/watching something. If I've a manga of this kind of anime, there's 80% for me to not watch the anime. Just like what happened in Kimi ni Todoke Season 2. And this is they reason why I don't read HOTD in mangas xD

I know people who once they start reading the manga, the don't like to watch the anime anymore and vice-versa. But for me, if I get interested in either of the two, I read and watch the whole thing.

I'm not big on manga but if I do read any it's usually after I start the anime. Mangas usually go past the anime and will have extra details the anime doesn't go into. That's really the only reason I read manga xD It's really personal preference though....

well i also read manga.. but its really different when it is released.. though i already know the storyline i still watch it.. because in manga its definitely boring when you just reading it.. but if it becomes a real anime... that's what i call nice...

Watching the manga first would probably be best. After reading the manga, you can look forward to the animated version in the anime. So I think reading and watching are the best option instead of just doing 1 of them

「There are many Animes who's Manga itself are much better, and there are also many Mangas who's Anime are much better~ lol
I actually watch and read both. I never ever dropped any Anime before. But in the case of Mangas, yes I dropped many since I usually prefer Anime over Mangas in some ways. If I'm satisfied with the Anime, and the Manga sucks. Of course I'll pick the Anime and Dropped the Manga. While in the Case of Anime, and the Manga is much more better. Then I'll read the Manga after having watched the Anime.~」

I prefer reading the Manga and Watching the Anime but, I also prefer Anime.
There are Animes that are better in Manga than in Anime. For Example is Skip beat. Its better in manga than anime, I'm telling you. lol, the Anime has few episodes that will hang you up and make you unsatisfied. The Manga is complete and still on going. I prefer Anime in some ways. I prefer CLANNAD in Anime, I think CLANNAD manga sucks? XD Well, sorry. If I'm not satisfied in Anime I'll read the Manga.

Both of them are great, Because the Anime follows the Manga/Light Novel so I both Watch Anime and Read Manga/Light Novel.

both
since sometimes the anime adaptation of a manga is usually end without a proper ending since the manga is still running
while animes sometimes have original content and some scenes might get more impact
so both of them

I like mangas, but can't get my hands on every single volume of a series (and hate reading them online) so I kinda have to go with anime on this one. Animes have to wait till the Manga of the series are complete (or at least up to a certain point) to Air on TV or continue the main story line (like Bleach atm). So with mangas, you can get into the main story earlier without waiting for the usually bad (but not all) filler arcs to end in anime. :3

I love watching the anime AFTER reading the manga.
In fact, it's only after I had read a manga, that I begin searching for the anime, or the drama... After reading a manga, I expect the adaptation to complete or add something (or at least to make me able to see more of the story, 'cause it's too sad to finish a manga...)
When I watch the adaptation, it's usually 'cause I want more...

it depends on the the series, some series are good in anime some are better in manga or vice versa.bu if its a really good anime and you already start to be a fan of it i suggest you read it,the thrill in reading fresh-made mangas is a sensation a lot of otakus overlook,....

in my opinion it depends to the person but for me I prefer reading and watching
why?
there are a lot of cases where the anime is not good but when you read the manga it's awesome (and also sometimes the story is changing already, like kuroshitsuji but I like the manga of kuroshitsuji more)
and also you can understand the story more if you will read the manga
I don't really care getting spoilers lol

For me. it's better to watch anime and manga.
But I recommend that you should watch anime first then manga. If you read the manga after you watch the anime you know the scenes that not seen in the anime.

Well i am into anime more~......the stories are good.. and you can read and re read the same page and look at the pictures!.. animie is too fast paced and many a times doesn't go with the original story.. and may have fillers >.<
but anime has its own points like colour, sfx, song and all.....and some times if story is good but art isn't ,i go for anime..
but i always end up reading manga first and then the anime.. so i am sometimes disappointed in animies and sometimes glad!

i think its best to both watch the anime and read the manga.. but i prefer to watch the anime first because usually the manga is better, so if i read it before watching the anime i might be disapointed by the anime.... but when i watch the anime first (and i like it) and then i read the manga and i love it even more

I would rather watch the anime and at the same time read the manga. But usually at my part, I first watch the anime version, then if it suddenly gives a hanging ending (like giving us a second season), I would find comfort and satisfaction in reading the manga ver.. :D

I like both (plus light novels, visual novels, games, etc, come before/with the Anime). Some have different endings in anime(vs)manga like Saikano and Elfen Lied. From Aoi Hana to Gunslinger Girls and many more, short anime series often continue only in manga so if you like it you have no choice anyway.

I usually watch the anime first, then read the manga.
I like seeing the differences in the endings.
But strangely, if I've read the manga first, I probably won't watch the anime. I'm not sure why, but I usually just can't. It has to be anime first then manga.

I Think That Both Are Essential in The Case of The Manga "Soul Eater" & "Kuroshitsuji" Since The Story in the Anime & Manga Were Diffrent I Don't Know About Soul Eater, But Kuroshitsuji Of How Diffrent The Story Is, It's kinda funny to call them "Filler Story Arc"

I like doing both because you get a difference experience from them. Reading what happens you know exactly what is supposed to happen and when you watch it, some times it comes across better than just looking at still pictures. But there are times that the anime neglects some parts of the manga. But if you do both you have the complete vision of the series

I do read mangas first before watching the anime since most animes I've watched have some ommitted scenes from the manga while others do really follow what's on it. It really depends on you, and the creators of the said anime. :)

As much as I enjoy reading manga, I find it very cool to see how well a director inputs a manga into an anime adaptation. Though it sounds easy as to simply copy and paste information over, doing it properly and having the right VA's is always a challenge I like to see accomplished :)

I think the manga is better than the anime because the story in the manga has everything what's lack in the anime like when you read the manga first then you realize that some parts is not included in the anime. The ending will leave you empty and unsatisfied. That's why I first go watch anime and then read the manga :D

i tend to read more manga than i watch anime, but i don't like watching the anime of a manga i read. i notice to many of the differences and already know the basis of the storyline.

I think it's good to watch anime and read manga. I watched the anime for Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama! first then realized that they had more chapters for the series than episodes... I think it only makes sense to read stuff like naruto then watch it cuz that has more action and what not

First things first: If you are truly a fan then those two things don't matter. You'll be addicted to it no matter what you do: read or watch or do both things.
I agree with moi12ica3, some anime adaptation are terrible so it depends on the anime itself. There are things written in the manga that are sometimes not shown in the anime and some scenes in the anime that are not in the manga (I think). So for more details regarding to that, I guess read and watch is the best thing to do.
Nonetheless you'll surely enjoy yourself and that's what matters the most. :) I hope we helped on your dilemma. :)

its depends.you should just read manga of you are more on the story side. or anime first if you prefer emphasis on emotions and actions. like for example, i just read most of the naruto manga and watch some of the episodes that has good fighting scenes and emotional scenes like when he met his dad or jiraiya's death.

It's better to read the manga or the light novel first because it clearly gives you more understanding in the characters and their are more stories that are shown in the book. Unlike anime not everything is shown in there and sometimes it causes confusion. Anime also sometimes add unnecessary stuff, remove important details or misinterprets the character design.
