The only thing new is apparently the 1080p graphics and a touch screen on the controller.

Sounds like a good idea, has potential which Nintendo will utilizes, but whats the cost per controller? A screen is going to eat the batteries too. How long will the controller last on battery life? And with a screen and a battery pack, how heavy will the controller be?

We will just have to wait and find out.

Nintendos always gotten by on good games, not being the technology leader so if thats what they're trying to focus on im a bit pensive about it all :\

Wii U is competing against 6 year old technology (PS3 & 360) and is only 50% better. Not really looking forward to it... I only sorta like Nintendo cause it's got Zelda and Harvest Moon :D.

If they have super smash on it I may be interested. I have been displeased with nintendo since the gamecube days.

Feels like its gonna be a waste of money to me. Course I thought everything past the GameCube and original DS (very first bulky brick one) was a waist of money, and so far the 3ds hasn't lived up to expectations either.

Actually, Nintendo really has been stepping up to the plate again. As of late, Sony has been failing it's consumers so badly. Most of the games that I see come out aren't even worth playing anymore. If anyone knows how to bring in the innovation, It's definitely Nintendo. Yes, the Gamecube and Wii consoles were a bit of a disappointment, but mainly due to lack of third-party development. "System spin-offs" like the 3DS, DSi, DSi XL etc. just make things look even worse.

But for some odd reason, I believe this new console is to be a beast. But what's a beast without it's fangs? Recent marketing shows that yes, we can deliver this "super awesome/ revolutionary" console to consumers in high hopes, but it's about the games. Giving us gamers a half of a story, shoddy animation, horrid voice acting etc.will not please anyone, no matter how powerful the system.

Thats my biggest gripe with Nintendo they make all these big steps in consoles and then give us shitty games. Its like building a personal vault to guard $50. One or two great games of the thousands is not worth a new console.
