Have you ever experienced an act of random kindness? Or have you yourself done one? Like doing something really kind to others for no apparent reason?
I remember my dad used to let other kids who were going to school and were also in the same direction as where we were going ride with us and drop them off at school. As for me I think I haven't done anything big for an act of random kindness...I've let the old people take my seat in the bus or lrt quite a few times and I've also helped people with their heavy luggage when they ride in a jeepney...thats about it .-.
Share your stories of receiving random kindness from others or giving them to others :)
btw I saw this link at the chatbox before .-. although I really can't remember who shared it, it was a good link and I think others deserve to see it as well .-. Click me! (http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~geoffo/humour/flattery.html)

Oh my mother used to give our old clothes (clothes that don't fit anymore) to poor children. Oh I remember those days. I was still young and I said no when she asked if she can give our old clothes. Sometimes whenever I walk down the streets, I see old women/men sitting down the street, asking for some change. And sometimes, I give them some. But not often, because one, I save the coins as my transportation fee, and two, I barely walk down the streets anyway. XD I give papers to my classmates whenever I want/need some. But when I was in my fourth year in high school, I barely gave some. Had enough. ._. I received papers when I need some too. haha. I let my classmates borrow some of my stuffs. I pick up the chalk when my teacher drops it. I help my classmates post their visual aids on the Blackboard when they're going to report, and they did the same when i was about to report the lesson that was assigned to us. There's lots of it, but I can't remember them all. But i do remember that all of them happened while I was in school. and hopefully, more will come in college. Aaaah. Good old days. I miss those days, and I miss everyone.

doesn't remember much but i am kind of random and does things at whim so i probably done some w/o paying much attention to it XD
giving someone your seat is something i think everyone would have done atleast once...right? oh and i just remember something that happened to me once when i was on a jeepney and tried to lend a hand on some student w/ her bags and was treated like someone weird. lmao XD
probably because back then i have a long hair and i for some reason tend to let it cover my face especially when i take some nap along the ride.

i give away food rather than money to those who beg for change on the streets...so they can eat and not spend money on something else...
and sometimes when i see a donation box i drop all my coins onto it...i hate carrying coins...though i have a coin purse...hehehe

Well it is nothing big... Just helping my classmates in their study, giving something to the beggers and helping the elderly to walk or help them in their baggages.

I love doing random acts of kindness. I maybe doing it for self-gratification, but I am also helping someone else at the same time. It also feels quite uplifting, in my opinion, to receive random acts of kindness - it makes you feel like people care about you :D
I try to do a random act of kindness everyday, whether it be letting someone you will probably never see again "borrow" your money, or sharing my lunch with people who are hungry. Believe it or not, when I'm in the mood, I feel that I need to sign up for volunteer work for no apparent reason. The same goes for spending my last dollar on charity funds/donations to returning missing belongings to it's owner.
As for receiving a random act of kindness, I actually don't remember the last time lol

Since I'm like one of the seniors in my class I help others for nothing at all... er... well, I do get respect and their kindness so maybe that's one kind of reward that I usually get.
Oh I recall a time when I gave a dollar to a complete stranger who asked me I met on the bus stop. I didn't know why I really did it but maybe I felt generous at that moment.
I'm not really adapt in giving out random kindness due to the types of people in the society here. So the only time I give other some of my 'fabulous' acts of random kindness is totally dependent on how they treat others like myself.
I sometimes think of this as a dead concept because of how the world it is now.

< girl scout
act of random kindness is already a normal thing for me in real life [i cant express this on the net world hurrdurr]
i never deny someone if they asked me to help them .
on our schools education convention i always help strangers to carry their bags
which is an easy task,
must refrain from listing too much nice info [girl scout soul fades]

theres one time that i share my biscuit to the kid sitting next to me..I don't know why but my body act on its own..but I'm very grateful that somehow i gave something...oh yea..theres also one time that my mother and I made a Christmas party [Dec.21,2009] for those who are in need..like those living near riverbanks and farm....I don't know the reason why my mother did that but we were very happy that we have a chance to help and gave a smile to those who are in need that time ^.^

i just realized now, everyday i do an act of random kindness. ^^
again, i lend my money to an acquaintance i haven't seen for years. i didn't even think if she's going to pay me. when she asked me if she can borrow, i was like, "she badly needs it. she has the guts to borrow from someone she's not even close with (and that's me)."
i lend her since i have extra.

Lol I love that link! I wanna hug whoever made it :D
Well... I try to open doors for people but usually some random guy beats me to it. I'll attempt to help people with school stuff if they ask me. Uhh I don't think I really do many random acts of kindness other than everyday stuff :o nothing that would stand out @_@ I have a friend that seems to always go out of her way for people... I can't think of a specific time right now tho.
~I'm gonna go send this link everywhere now :D

I do a few things every week that would be random kindnesses. Me and a few friends go find homeless people and take them food and supplies and bus tickets to work... stuff like that. Where I live is full of drug dealers and "street walkers" and poor families. Whenever they come to our house we give them food and stuff, or if they tell us they need something we try to find a way for them to get it.
I was at a coffee shop once and I paid for my coffee and the person behind me and then I sat down to see what would happen lol. The person behind me paid for the person behind them and it continued 8 more times till someone didn't pay for the person behind them.
I had a friend who lost everything he owned so I let him come in my room and take what he wanted.
I have this weird habit of leaving change in pay phones lol. Even if I am not using it. I will go up to it and put change in the change return. I never stick around to see the reaction of the next person but I think its cool that so many people found change lol.
A few times my friends have needed money for something important and I would secretly find a way to get it to them lol, or I would just give it to them and say "don't say anything and don't pay me back".
2 people in my family have cancer or are recovering from it. I tell them to bring their kids over so I can watch them and so they can go out and do things.
Every once in awhile I will go to the movies and buy an extra ticket and give it away to a stranger.
I just love doing random nice things when I can. I am a firm believer that every nice thing thats done in the world makes it just a little bit better.

An act of random kindness?
I normally help my classmates in doing props for some programs to the point of being extremely haggard.
If someone don't have something like papers, I do share mine.
I give away some of my small clothes
I once joined an outreach program (helping children in reading)
I'm at the bus with my classmates, (3seats) there is a child standing and we compressed/moved to let that child seat= we're four in the row.
Small things but will make you feel better.
Btw, I mostly troll others, it makes them happy (sometimes), is it an act of kindness?

Well since I'm good at math.. (Yeah I'm good at it but I sucked at everything else).. I usually teach my seatmate if he/she ask me.
I also lend a random guy my extra pen for the exam...

Apparently I am fabulous. Why thank you, kind sir. :P
As for me, a random act of kindness. I think I do little things here and there like you said, allowing an elder person to sit down on the bus and opening doors for others. However, to me, that's just courtesy...not a random act of kindness. A random act of kindness right now for me would be the fact that the family I am living with at the moment take drinks such as water and coke/other pops out to the garbage men to come around every so often due to the intense heat in the summer. I think that is a nice thing to do and the garbage men always appreciate it and say Thank you.
In my life, I don't think I have done something yet that I can genuinely say was a random act of kindness. But when I'm older I do plan to do stuff in less developed countries and orphanages. That's something I've always wanted to participate in. I may take a gap year next year to do so and then Ill go to University after that year :D
