Aki Sora Manga BANNED! & Mirai Nikki TV Series & Upotte!! Anime Adaptation

Manga creator Masahiro Itosugi announced on her Twitter account on Thursday that there will be no more printings of volumes 1 and 3 in her Aki Sora manga after July. She then explained that the biggest problem is their depictions of incest; she emphasized that the reason is not because they are erotically graphic. The manga deals with the taboo relationship between a high school boy named Sora Aoi and his smart, athletic, "perfect" older sister Aki.

The restrictions in Tokyo's recently amended Youth Healthy Development Ordinance go into effect on July 1. The amendment will expand the number of manga and anime that fall under "harmful publications," the legal category of works that must not be sold or rented to people under the age of 18. Erotic material was already restricted before the amendment, but the amended law will also restrict the sales and renting of materials that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government considers "to be excessively disrupting of social order."

Itosugi said that it was not her decision to stop printing these two volumes, but did not elaborate on who decided the matter. She also said that she "probably" cannot release volumes 1 and 3 on Ken Akamatsu's J-Comi service or other forms of electronic publishing.

When asked if these volumes can be released with an adults-only stamp, Itosugi acknowledged that "it is not out of the realm of possibility," but added that these volumes do not meet the criteria for an adults-only stamp. She noted that these volumes do not currently have an adults-only stamp. She also emphasized that she did not intend for them to be adults-only and that this manga would have been a completely different work creatively had she drawn it for an adults-only audience.

Itosugi ended her Aki Sora manga in the 25th volume of Akita Shoten's Champion RED Ichigo magazine on April 5. The manga inspired an anime DVD that was bundled with the limited first edition of the third manga volume in 2009, as well a two-volume video anime last year.

“Mirai Nikki” – TV Series Fall Premiere

According to Kadokawa, a TV anime series for 「Mirai Nikki」 is slated to premiere this Fall. It had previously received an 8-minute OAD in December 2010.

In addition, the 12th and final volume to the manga series will be released on April 26th.

“Upotte!!” – Anime Adaptation

According to the wraparound jacket band found on the manga, Tennouji Kitsune’s 4-panel comedy manga series, 「Upotte!!」, will be receiving an anime adaptation. The characters in the story are moe anthropomorphized assault rifles — such as the FNC, M16A4, SG550, AR18, etc.

A teacher is looking for a school by the name of Seishou Academy, as he is a new transfer teacher for that school. Seishou Academy is known for having students with excellent marksmanship. However, he gets lost along the way and decides to look for someone who knows where the school is at a summer festival. He encounters a girl at a shooting range and finds her marksmanship skills to be professional. The girl tells the new teacher that she is an assault rifle, not a student. Her name is FNC and is an assault rifle of Seishou Academy. The new teacher attends school the next day to find students, including FNC, practicing shooting M16s and realizes that he has come to an unbelievable school. How will his experience be at Seishou Academy?

My god,manga like Aki Sora is not for anyone not old enough to handle. I mean,i'm illegal,i'm 15,and I watched Yosuga no Sora and KissxSis,and I haven't gone insane or raped anybody. I mean,is incest that big of a deal? And it's in anime for Haruhi's sake. Youth Healthy Development? More like getting kids to grow up and become angry and irritable politicians who impose such restricting laws. I thought Japan was not as harsh on sexuality as in America. I haven't read this manga yet and now it's banned! Oh well, if it has incest issues, it should be rated as mature eventhough it's not drawn for that kind of audience. Teens are not yet Psychologically mature and this manga may be disturbing for them (it is disturbing for me) and might encourage the same act. I may read this kind of manga and the twisted love may disturb me for days, but I can get over it and it may not affect my view in life. Masahiro Itosugi should change the story into making the sister into someone that is not the guys' real sister later on in the story so that it would be not considered as incest anymore. Just sayin'.

I'm not too fond of incest but I don't like this ban an inch. People believe in a lot of things, just because certain important people's opinions dictate that Incest is taboo or simply bad then it's banned doesn't mean it has to be. Sure, go ban incest and watch your sales drop. next you ban ecchi, Goodbye to a good portion of your money. The manga/anime industry gives japan major money. They want to tear it apart?

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter much if you aren't Japanese making the protest.
The intention of this is somewhat good, to protest the freedom of speech, but then it 'disrupts social order', hence the ban

Aki Sora has already been adapted into a three episode OAV series, but you can't watch it on OS. Seeing as that's the case I wonder why this piece of news was even reported here in the first place? It doesn't make much sense to me :/
