It's been months since sony reviled the new SUCCESSOR of the popular portable console "PSP "at an event in Tokyo. the PSP2 codenamed "Next Generation Portable" or "NGP", sony claims that the new console can be compared or leveled to the ever popular PS3, which means it will be supposedly able to produce “PS3-like graphics”, added with its new features the touch pad on the rear that allows users to “touch” or “push” objects in games from the back, 3G and Wi-Fi, GPS, two built in cameras in the front and back of the console, dual analog sticks, and touch screened LCD! @.@

hopefully Sony says the PSP2 will hit stores by year-end. The price hasn’t been fixed yet. but due to The earthquake and tsunami in Japan it may haved delayed (http://www.crunchgear.com/2011/04/04/sonys-ngppsp2-may-only-hit-one-region-in-2011/)the PSP2/NGP to 2012 in most markets.

hmmm as far as it looks like its definitely expensive

they put so much features on it that some will be not use making the price higher

well its really nice to get one but i think its better for the public to own the original psp its just to hot in the eyes and it will be a target to danger

I agree maybe with the inclusion of the 3G and GPS functionality. I wonder what the data plans would be like?

BLUETOOTH I just hope that they won't restrict anything with the transferring of files >_< like if you had music you wanted to share to your friend...I guess they won't allow the games to be transferable via bluetooth but I hope the other files such as video music would be allowed....

I'm kinda excited for once...I'm not really a fan of portable consoles but the PSP2 shows promise...but I'm guessing its paired up with a colossal price tag. I'm guessing it would take 3-4 years upon its initial release before I would even dream of getting that XD too expensive lolz

yeah.. we should probably wait a few years before buying it... i just bought my ps3 last month and it only cost 16.5k pesos or 380$ inclusive of 2 dualshock3 controller and an original game disk which is really cheap considering I live in philippines. and it probably won't release awesome games until a few years later.

I'm sooo gonna love the tilt-sensitive SIXAXIS controls, It'll be much easier to turn and view the different angles of the game that way.

What I'm freaking about now is one of the other function of the secondary touch pad on the back. I mean I didn't know that they could use it that way...

So many new features!!!!

I'm still looking to buy one when it comes on the market.. :3

Did Sony hire Peter Molyneux to do their announcements? PS3 grade hardware?
...wait, POPULAR? SUCCESSFUL? SONY? Did i fall into a coma in 2011? Is it now 2013 and did Sony suddenly release a series of games for the PSP that made up for it's horrendous library? Or am i the only one who remembers that Nintendo picked bigger rivals out of it's teeth in 1998?

Don't be too quick to sound the trumpet of glory. Improving on the crap PSP is hardly a difficult task, and Nintendo has been showing signs of learning from stupid mistakes it made and that Sony has recently began copying. I don't see Sony dominating the handheld market just because it made some hype riddled announcement, it has Apple and Nintendo to compete with, and Sony has shown quite literally zero signs of being capable of competing with them. Powerful hardware won't make up for the fact that the mobile market has third party support, a gigantic audience by default, and that Nintendo recently released the 3DS showing cunning in attracting the stupid gimmick crowd with the 3D option, but they're trying to regain their old fanbase by making the stupid gimmick optional and releasing remakes of old titles, improving it's 3rd party reputation.
And even if the 3DS fails, like i said, Sony are hacks when it comes to their handheld market and making the same mistake they made with their console. Their issue isn't hardware limitations at this stage, their issue is THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH GOOD EXCLUSIVE TITLES! They should address the problem of dodgy hand held games first, THEN upgrade their hardware once they have a strong game development base that can keep up with it.

Its graphics is in par of PS3? Then the cost of PSP2 would be too expensive here in the Philippines. Since PS3 is expensive too. Only the rich folks can afford that then.... :(
