I'm a guy that likes mixed genres in a single series. Like, I really enjoy ones with comedy, romance, drama, and action all in the same series. However, I do like that occasional horror/occult/supernatural.

Toradora - great mixture of comedy, romance, and drama. Very comical first 12 episodes, then starts getting real deep. Wonderful cast.

Clannad - one of the best dramas i've ever seen. Wonderful plot and some of the seiyus(voices actors) deserve awards

Shakugan no shana - Great story development with action/supernatural and romance. I became attached because the female lead is my favorite voice actress: Rie Kugimiya

Skip beat - great protagonist, hilarious, and a little romance. although I expect the romance to kick it up in the 2nd season

Zero no tsukaima - this one hit the trifecta for me: funny, action/drama, and romance.

Bleach - great, heart pumping action, but I don't really like the filler seasons

Naruto - What can I say, pretty damn good ninja stuff

Ouran koukou host club - A very funny series fully with dynamic characters

Gundam Wing - the only series before the year 2000 that I actually love. Protagonist is one of the greatest ever created

Ghost Hunt - Although the series does not focus on gore too often to scare audince, one of the best horror/supernatural series I-ve ever seen.

To aru majutsu no Index/to aru kagaku no Railgun - I don?t know why, but I think the powers some of these guys have is awesome

my top 10 anime list changes when i watch new anime wahahaha....

My list...

#1: Black Jack: it adds an extra bit of cartoony elements to it so that it becomes even more enjoyable when you're abusing caffeine or something with THC, but without it you've got a good concept, a certain level of pre-existing plot typically absent from older shows, and the emotions just somehow feel a little more real.

#2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Despite my serious and logical attitude, i've always been a fan of the obscure. A Douglas Adams acolyte through and through, an interesting and original story is always welcome. So a story about a high school girl who is God? I'm there! And a cute red-head? That just makes my day. Plus, i can identify a lot with Kyon. I've been in my fair share of ridiculous clubs with a leader who seems to have gone milky in the Filbert, if you know what i mean.

#3: Death Note (Pre-timeskip): To kill someone with knowledge of their name and face? A special concept to be sure, but the moral dilemmas included make Death Note a very special series to me. A lot of people stop to ask, how would they use the Death Note? Wipe out criminals? Would the grief of murder but the power you feel drive you mad like it did Light? Would you be willing to break the rules to catch this almost god-like killer like L? Plus, Ryuk is a great character.

#4: Welcome to the NHK: My personal ties towards mental illness and recluses made this anime a somewhat interesting bit of hindsight for me. But airing the dirty laundry of Japanese culture with a sick glee and actually somewhat accurately portray the related aspects of mental illness? My only regret is that the ending seemed a little weak.

#5: Outlaw Star: The first anime i ever followed closely, my appreciation for it is more a matter of nostalgia. And seeing the main character getting his ass handed to him while crossdressing is something i never get tired of seeing.

#6: Lucky Star: Actually the only reason i've ever finished this series is a lolita with ridiculously long blue hair. Konata Izumi, by far my favorite fictional character. And Kagami and Hiyori aren't bad either.

#7: Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni: School kids going crazy, brutally killing each other, and then the process repeats itself. A nice dose of mystery and the supernatural makes this an extremely fun anime.

#8: Berserk: Honest to goodness backstory! Unbelievable! Berserk has an extremely badass character and they show HOW HE GOT THAT WAY! I'm not much of a fan of the fantasy settings, but i'll make an exception for this one.

#9: Akira: One of the original anime videos to make it to American shores, Akira features heavy elements of substance abuse, criminal behavior, and evolution into divine beings all wrapped up in a hideous dystopian society. Who can't love it?

#10: Yu-Gi-Oh!: Don't get me wrong. The anime sucked. I'm just thankful to it for allowing the creation of Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged, which is actually quite hilarious.
