HOW TO UPLOAD
So how can you be an uploader? You can upload even without the uploader status. Here's how.
Programs you will need.
1) Alltoavi (http://downloads.sourceforge.net/alltoavi/AllToAVI_v4_r5394_Setup.exe?modtime=1185303407&big_mirror=0)
2) Bencos (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AJG2K1X6) Updated!! (1/30/10)
3) Megamanager (optional) (http://static.megaupload.com/megamanager.exe)
Part I. Preparing the Video for Bencos
First you have to determine what format your video is. The easiest for me to determine the video type is to unhide extensions for known file type
To do this, just go to:
-->Tools-->Folder Option --> View Tab --> Uncheck Hide extensions for known file type
Screenshot (http://imgur.com/HUWCe.jpg)
Screenshot (http://imgur.com/ooON9.jpg)
1) If its mkv
You have to convert it to avi using alltoavi. Here are the steps:
1) After opening alltoavi, click on 'Add File', and select the mkv video
Screenshot (http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/6403/46562682qd9.jpg)
2) It will most likely say:
'H.264 Video detected! Do you want AlltoAvi to more restricted special
mode?[RECOMMENDED]'
Just click yes.
Screenshot (http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/2706/59896933kj3.jpg)
3) Another window will show saying 'H.264 Mode require the use of No Skip Option, please choose a Frame rate'
Just click Ok.
Screenshot (http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/821/45951413pw6.jpg)
4) For video Bitrate, input 1200.
5) For subtitle, select in the option box '0'
6) Same for Audio as well, '0'
Screenshot (http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/6137/59857296pu3.jpg)
7) Select the No Skip option window
8) See what AlltoAvi Suggested FPS and check the box close to that number and click Ok.
Screenshot (http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/9381/39606094us6.jpg)
9) Go back to the Convertion window and click 'Add Job'
10) Click Convert!
Screenshot (http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/9136/47866656dw4.jpg)
2) If its in RMVB format
1.) Open AlltiAvi and drag the video inside.
Screenshot (http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1391/74490815ot6.jpg)
2) A window will show saying 'Alltoavi could not determine the parameters of the video, please manually specify'
Just press Ok
Screenshot (http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/2782/27204342ye7.jpg)
3) Now the AlltoAvi doesn't detect the screen size of the video, so you have to manually set it.
-When the video is in wide screen(the rectangle one), set the screen size to 704x400.
Screenshot (http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/2272/32582728hz9.jpg)
-When the video has normal screen (the square one), set the screen size to 640x480
Screenshot (http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1703/55678706sm6.jpg)
4)Set the video codec to 'XVID'
5) Select Software Scaler 'to Bi Cubic'
6) Set Bitrate to '1200'
7) Set Audio Bitrate to '128'
8) Set Subtitle to '-1'
9) Set Audio to '-3'
Screenshot (http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/2994/65964862sy0.jpg)
10) Click Add and then Convert!
3) If its in Avi or Mp4 then you can proceed to the next step.
Part II. Converting the video to mp4 using Bencos.
Even though the video is already in mp4 format, you still have to reconvert it in BENCOS. Assuming your video is already in avi or mp4 format, proceed to the following steps.
1) Open up bencos and go to files tab
Screenshot (http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/6909/15723954ao6.jpg)
2) right click by your mouse in this window and add the files you wish to encode. (Notice that you can add many eps here.)
Screenshot (http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/3769/34892300aa7.jpg)
3) The C:\ is the directory were bencos will output the encoded files, be sure to check if there is enough space there (you can change the directory of course)
Screenshot (http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/4660/52392144gb8.jpg)
4) Go to Settings Tab and change the following settings:
-Source: Generic
-Container: MPEG-4
-Video codec: MPEG4 AVC
-Audio codec: AAC HE+PS
-Video Quality: Normal
-Video Bitrate: 300
-Audio Bitrate: 48(check stereo)
Screenshot (http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/505/56194693zs0.jpg)
5) Now for resize. To know the exact ratio, open AlltoAvi, add the video. In Screensize, make sure you check the Locked Aspect Ratio box. In the first box(width), change that to 512. The height will automatically be set. Copy that value and go back to bencos
Screenshot (http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/9476/42083393dp9.jpg)
Screenshot (http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/8191/45075516iw7.jpg)
6) check resize and replace it with the copied values. Ex. 512:384
Screenshot (http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/2056/10428128ww9.jpg)
7) Go to status tab, then click Start.
Screenshot (http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/2957/13984813vv5.jpg)C. Uploading
For your convenience and ours, you can upload the converted video to www.MegaUpload.com (http://www.MegaUpload.com). After Uploading, PM me or Jbluey the links, after we verify the upload, we will change your status to Uploader.
(Optional) You can use the program called MegaManager instead of using your browser for uploading. The advantage of using megamanager is that it has a resume function. So even if you got disconnected, your upload wont go back to 0%.
Screenshot (http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/6438/94801442gz6.jpg) Method#2 How to convert MKV/OGM with the best quality
Extra software needed.
1) AviSynth 2.5 (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E1OMOT2R)
2) Aegisub (http://www.aegisub.net/)
3) OGM Cleaver (http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/OGMcleaver-Download-80088.html)
4) MKV Toolnix (http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/MKVToolnix-Download-43981.html)
1st - Software preparations
Install the following softwares. For OGM Cleaver, you have to extract the contents on the desired directory you want to put it.
Open OGM Cleaver and click on 'Find MKVToolnix', it would probably find the folder itself but if it didn't, locate the MKVToolnix directory and click Okay. 2nd - Extract subs
Open OGM Cleaver and aclick on 'Open OGM/MKV files to process' button. Select the MKV or OGM file. On the right panel, uncheck everything except the subtitle that you are going to use for encoding.
Click on 'Extract tracts' button. (You can add multiple files as long as they have similar tracks structure.)
You will know when it is done when the processing section (left panel) is empty
The .srt or .ass (subtitle files that are extracted from the video) is on the same directory as the mkv/ogm file 3rd - Convert video to avi using alltoavi
Convert video to avi without subtitles 1200 bitrate for video and 128 bitrate for sound. Do not resize. Also make sure you chose the right audio.(If you don't know how to use alltoavi, please refer to the top tutorial)
4th - Prepare script
Open notepad and paste this code
LoadPlugin("")
AVISource("")
TextSub("") In LoadPlugin, type the location of 'vsfilter.dll' (a component of aegisub) inside the quotes. ex.(LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\Aegisub\csri\vsfilter.dll")) If you have installed aegisub by default then the directory would be "C:\Program Files\Aegisub\csri\vsfilter.dll"
In AVISource, type the location of the avi you have recently converted using alltoavi inside the quotes.
In TextSub, type the location of the extracted subtitle (.srt or .ass) of the video inside the quotes.
Save the file as '<avi video name>.avs' and save it on the same directory as the avi file.
ex.
avi file is "School_Rumble_01.avi", so the script file would be, 'School_Rumble_01.avs'5th - Convert to mp4 using bencos
Resize the video to a 512px width. Please refer to alltoavi of the proper ratio.
Video Bitrate should 290 (this is standard to all videos regardless if it is action or not)
Audio bitrate is 48
Instead of adding the avi file to convert, add the avs file instead
Choose the directory you want to save the file
Start converting
Method#3 How to Convert avi/mp4 into streamable mp4
Extra software needed.
1) SUPER Converter (http://www.filehippo.com/download_super/) (Install after download)
2) MP4 Box (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9KV6E82Q) (Extract all contents inside bencos folder. Allow replacing of existing files)
1st - File Locations
First you need to determine the locations of these following files/folders and place them in a notepad for convinience:
1) Location of 'mencoder' folder inside SUPER Converter folder (where SUPER Converter is installed)
2) Location of mp4 Box inside bencos folder (where bencos is installed)
3) Location of the video file(avi,mp4) you want to convert
Note: When saving the locations on the notepad, put them in quotes ("")
Screenshot (http://imgur.com/xMt6M.jpg)2nd - Converting video using mencoder
1) open up notepad and copy/paste the following code in it
mencoder "input" -ovc x264 -oac faac -faacopts br=64:mpeg=4: object=2 -channels 2 -srate 48000 -o "output" -vf scale=512:384 -x264encopts deblock=1,1:bframes=5:frameref=5:threads=2:b_pyram id:nofast_pskip:nopsnr:crf=22:8x8dct:weight_b:mixe d_refs:me=umh:partitions=all:subq=7:trellis=1 2) replace "input" with the location of the video file you saved earlier
3) replace "output" with the file name you want for the video after conversion ex: "anime_01.mp4"
4) check if the resize ration is correct in 'scale=512:384' using alltoavi (check previous tutorials on how to check for the proper resize ratio)
Example based on the screenshot above:
mencoder "E:\Multimedia\My Videos\Mamotte Shugogetten\[A-Flux] Mamotte Shugogetten 01 [A7C7704F].avi" -ovc x264 -oac faac -faacopts br=64:mpeg=4: object=2 -channels 2 -srate 48000 -o "Mamotte_Shugogetten_01.mp4" -vf scale=512:384 -x264encopts deblock=1,1:bframes=5:frameref=5:threads=2:b_pyram id:nofast_pskip:nopsnr:crf=22:8x8dct:weight_b:mixe d_refs:me=umh:partitions=all:subq=7:trellis=1 5) open command prompt by going to (windows xp)start menu --> run --> and type cmd
6) type cd "location of mencoder of SUPER converter" and press ENTER. example: (cd "C:\Program Files\eRightSoft\SUPER\mencoder")
TIP: to paste a text, right-click inside the command prompt and select paste
7) paste your recently modified code inside the command prompt and press ENTER
Screenshot (http://imgur.com/QjjYZ.jpg)
Wait for the video to finish converting3rd - Making the converted video streamable
There are two ways of doing this. One is through converting the newly converted video in bencos, and two is to use mp4box to make it streamable. I won't explain how to convert it using bencos because I would assume you would know that by now. I will just explain how to convert it using the mp4box.
1) Copy the newly converted video from the mencoder folder into the bencos folder
2) Open command prompt and type cd "Location of bencos" Example: (cd "C:\Program Files\Bencos")
NOTE: Replace all "video" with the actual video file name.
3) type mp4box -aviraw video "video.mp4" and press ENTER. The extracted video file would be something like this ("video.h264")
4) type mp4box -aviraw audio "video.mp4" and press ENTER. The extracted audio file would be something like this ("video.raw")
5) Rename audio "video.raw" to "video.acc". Make sure the you change the extension type. If you can't see it, (Windows XP)Go to tools --> folder options --> View tab --> Uncheck Hide extensions for known file type[/b]
6) type mp4box -add "video.mp4" -add "video.acc" "video_streamable.mp4". Replace video_streamable withe a desired file name, make sure its different from the original video file.
If above method doesn't work, convert it using bencos.

avich, you should mention how if the .mkv has hard subs (it doesn't happen alot) you can just use bencos and skip the all-to-avi step.
Heh idunno it won't even open on mine o_o
you need to right click the program go into properties. Click the Compatibility tab then check Run this program as Admin. It didn't work for me, but it will afterwards. Please post if this works.

It is to make uploading multiple files easier. Also it has a resume function if ever your internet got disconnected in the middle of uploading, it wouldn't go back to 0% and will continue where it stopped. While as if you just upload via browser, it will go back to 0%.

How do you resize a video that's already in mp4. I did what you guys said and tried to reconvert it with bencos but it gives me a error message when it gets to audio encoding.
Is there a different way to resize it?
avich
06-28-2009, 06:31 PM
@mattduy - you got yourself an annoying problem. You have to double convert it using super converter and converting it using a wma2 audio configuration to solve that. I will try to make a guide for it. The mp4 file is most likely not streamable.
@alrius - what do you mean? The height doesn't have to be 384, it can be anything as long as it matches the ratio of 512 video width.
mattduy
06-28-2009, 10:19 PM
Ok. I'll just wait until then. and it shouldn't be stream able since it's not the right dimensions.
Edit: Actually, I could just go direct download each of them but it would take a while to get them all.

I am not the best person to give advise - but are your saying you have an anime with separate external subtitles? In which case you you need to convert with Total Video Converter. It lets you pick the external sub when converting to AVI. Thereafter you can convert in bencos
Ok. I'll just wait until then. and it shouldn't be stream able since it's not the right dimensions.
Edit: Actually, I could just go direct download each of them but it would take a while to get them all.
Again - not the best person to give advise, but if you have an mp4 which is not streamable, then you have to use Super converter or Total video converter or even Alltoavi - convert it back to avi and then back to mp4 with bencos. A lot of the direct downloads have to be done this way. Thats why altho torrents take longer to download, they are better.
I will ask Chiva to list the programme we use to check if a mp4 is streamable as well in case anyone needs it.

MyNameIsMat : So sorry no one replied you. No it doesnt have to be MU. We just prefer it as we have a premium account and therefore transferring to our host happens on super speeds. We also back up every video in our MU account, so again MU is the preferred choice. However if its a problem - pls upload in whatever file storage that is convenient to you
Mattduy : Chivs has been having exams last week and this week, and is on a special scholarship program on the weekends (yeah both our Admins are genius's) and will be back online from next week. In any event, will give him a gentle reminder :1:

awww.

so if i would like to upload an anime that would look like (Naruto Movie Bond or Alfro Samurai Ressurection)

It depends on how alltoavi will adjust the dimension when the width is set to 512.
Example. Arigatou Giniro No Kami No Agito.mkv
when added in AlltoAvi, we can its dimension is 720x480

um instead of benco can I use this program called Xvid4PSP? It seems to do everything Benco does and more, such as directly converting MKV files to MP4 AVC.
Oh, and what kind of files do DVD's use? I have all Excel Saga episodes and I want to convert them.
Found Hunter X Hunter OVA episodes, but they're all VOB on a DVD. How do I extract the subtitles?
I tried running Bencos, but an error window popped up saying "C:\Program Files\Bencos\bencos.exe
A referral was returned from the server."

The .srt or .ass (subtitle files that are extracted from the video) is on the same directory as the mkv/ogm file
Hmm... Will this work in a MKV that has subtitle built-in.... i have CCP software i can enable and disable the subtitle. i want to convert an MKV to AVI with subtitle <--- (lol name of the software ) coz i tested when i convert MKV to AVI there is no sub with it
.....nobody answered my question for many days,

Do you mean hardsubs or softsubs? If it's hardsubs, you don't need to do anything. If it's soft subs, i suggest you use MKVextract GUI to extract the subtitles, then add the subtitle file to the file.

Xvid4PSP... i dont know if its streamable but you can try converting a clip or any small length anime vids[like web animes] and send it to me.....coz have tried 15 MP4 converters and only found 2 which is streamable.. that software is Bencos & RealAnime6..
Found Hunter X Hunter OVA episodes, but they're all VOB on a DVD. How do I extract the subtitles?
i havent tried extracting sub from VOB/DVD.. but try using "mkvmerge GUI". i muxed the videos to mkv including the subtitles..
I tried running Bencos, but an error window popped up saying "C:\Program Files\Bencos\bencos.exe

have you tried running it as Administrator?? if the problem still occur try this converter instead... RealAnime6 (http://download.softpedia.com/dl/40aa193e54135749d8743984ea2eea6c/4ab93c43/100027360/software/multimedia/video/encoder/REALANIME6_20070925.exe)

I managed to extract the subs from the Hunter X Hunter OVA DVDs and I've already converted 4 episodes to AVI using XviD4PSP. I guess I'll use RealAnime6 for MP4 because Bencos doesn't work even when I run it as an Administrator program.
Edit: RealAnime works thanks a lot!

i don't have it anymore, i've converted it to mp4 via bencos.. i'm working on it now, converting the orginal mkv to avi. it takes time :((
In fact, i have 2 episodes but 3 videos.. 1 of the videos have 2 eng subs appearing but one of the eng subs is out of sync whereas the other is perfect. :( did not know why this has happened. First time doing this ..
jbluey
12-28-2009, 04:46 PM
sry i havent tried using mkvmerge or ogmcleaver yet
when i convert mkv to avi i dont include the subtitle [via alltoavi]..
i only hardsub them when converting to mp4..
But i do this one.
Method#2 How to convert MKV/OGM with the best quality
Extra software needed.
1) AviSynth 2.5 (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E1OMOT2R)
2) Aegisub (http://www.aegisub.net/)
3) OGM Cleaver (http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/OGMcleaver-Download-80088.html)
4) MKV Toolnix (http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/MKVToolnix-Download-43981.html)
1st - Software preparations
Quote:
Install the following softwares. For OGM Cleaver, you have to extract the contents on the desired directory you want to put it.
Open OGM Cleaver and click on 'Find MKVToolnix', it would probably find the folder itself but if it didn't, locate the MKVToolnix directory and click Okay.
2nd - Extract subs
Quote:
Open OGM Cleaver and aclick on 'Open OGM/MKV files to process' button. Select the MKV or OGM file. On the right panel, uncheck everything except the subtitle that you are going to use for encoding.
Click on 'Extract tracts' button. (You can add multiple files as long as they have similar tracks structure.)
You will know when it is done when the processing section (left panel) is empty
The .srt or .ass (subtitle files that are extracted from the video) is on the same directory as the mkv/ogm file
3rd - Convert video to avi using alltoavi
Quote:
Convert video to avi without subtitles 1200 bitrate for video and 128 bitrate for sound. Do not resize. Also make sure you chose the right audio.(If you don't know how to use alltoavi, please refer to the top tutorial)
4th - Prepare script Quote:
Open notepad and paste this code
Quote:
LoadPlugin("")
AVISource("")
TextSub("")
In LoadPlugin, type the location of 'vsfilter.dll' (a component of aegisub) inside the quotes. ex.(LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\Aegisub\csri\vsfilter.dll")) If you have installed aegisub by default then the directory would be "C:\Program Files\Aegisub\csri\vsfilter.dll"
In AVISource, type the location of the avi you have recently converted using alltoavi inside the quotes.
In TextSub, type the location of the extracted subtitle (.srt or .ass) of the video inside the quotes.
Save the file as '<avi video name>.avs' and save it on the same directory as the avi file.
ex.
avi file is "School_Rumble_01.avi", so the script file would be, 'School_Rumble_01.avs'
5th - Convert to mp4 using bencos
Quote:
Resize the video to a 512px width. Please refer to alltoavi of the proper ratio.
Video Bitrate should 290 (this is standard to all videos regardless if it is action or not)
Audio bitrate is 48
Instead of adding the avi file to convert, add the avs file instead
Choose the directory you want to save the file
Start converting

if i play the mkv file on flv , (which i just downloaded a few moments ago in which the link u gave me) everything is normal. or shld i say perfect. the problem is it's too big .

To maintain the status, you need to at least upload 1 video a month but if you reach 100 total videos uploaded, the status will be permanent.
If the uploader failed to meet those, they will be changed into Inactive Uploader status.

To get a flv video into stream-able video, you have to convert it with super converter to AVI first, then use bencos to get it to mp4, but i wouldn't recommend downloading flv formats, since they have really bad quality

just try using other converter
program needed
mkvextract
total video converter
1. extract the sub in the mkv file using mkvextract
2. open the video in tvc use avi format using "xvid avi codec" (using other codec will give you an error in converting in bencos in the end)
3. click filters and open subtitle use the .srt file extracted from mkvextract
for best result click setting and change the following
AudioPage
change audio coded to mp3
change the sampling rate to 44100 (click customs)
change bitrate to 128 kbits/sec (click customs)
VideoPage
video codec = xvid
bitrate and framerate keep it original
4. click convert
5. finish (this setting will also allow you to play the video in your dvd player)
note: dont change the video size keep it original (changing the V.size can mess up subtitle position in the video) <--- this part is only in tvc part....
6. then convert the .avi file in bencos = .mp4

I've been having tons of luck converting MKV/OGM/MP4 to MP4 by just using Bencos. The thing is you first need to open the MKV/OGM file in mkvmerge GUI and verify or set the subtitle track to "Default track flag = yes". Remux the file if you had to change the setting then load the file into Bencos. Once in Bencos after you change all the settings to OS standards, just make sure to click the Slow audio extraction and 98% of the time all files will be encoded w/o issue.

trying out this trick irish my man hope it does its job right XD
I hope it does work for you. Only works when you ues Bencos v2010-1-30. Here are the steps I use:
1. file type
a. If file is .avi or .mp4 (generally mp4 files have subs hard-coded already) move to step 3.
b. If file is .mkv or .ogm go to step 2.
2. Open mkvmerge GUI program, load video and verify that English subtitle and Japanese audio have their default track flag = yes
a. If they are, move on to step 3
b. If they are set to default or no, set default track flag = yes and then re-mux the video and add v2 in file name or save to new folder.
*By default the mkvmerge GUI program likes to save all files to .mkv, just make sure to change the file extension back to the original extension.http://otaku-streamers.com/community/attachment.php?attachmentid=12635http://otaku-streamers.com/community/attachment.php?attachmentid=12634
3. Load file into Bencos and change settings/filters to OS standard requirements
4. If file = .mkv, .ogm, or .mp4 select Slow Audio Extraction, not needed w/avi but might solve audio encoding error if encounteredhttp://otaku-streamers.com/community/attachment.php?attachmentid=12637
5. Set output folder location
6. Double check settings
7. Start encoding and minimize to system tray. I usually check progress about every 5-20 min for errors or completion.
I use AlltoAVI if I run into any errors I can't fix using this process.
*Videos that have .ass subtitles will undoubtedly encoded in a different font type and size than the original. Should be fine if the subs are .srt. So use at your own risk.

Yeah that's about the only problem that I've encountered is that videos with .ass/.ssa style subtitles will become a bit bigger and change as Bencos does not keep the advance styling. I believe the person developing Bencos/RealAnime is adding a feature to handle soft-subs in the next version of the programs (Bencos V2 which is being re-coded and RealAnime7. http://soft.detritus.qc.ca/). Hopefully it will be able to hardcode the .ass/.ssa style subs into the output video.

I have another method I use for the mencoder issue on Alltoavi ... I just use Super Converter to convert from MKV to AVI. Only problem is its a heavy programme and unless you have a nice new super processor, it slows your pc down so its best done while you sleep. Super also is good for the issue of out of sync audio.
IrishMonkee
09-24-2010, 06:49 AM
I like using Super Converter to find out all the specifics of the file, it gives you a nice detailed report. Your so right in that it is a very cpu heavy program. I will usually set the priority level to low in task manager so that it doesn't stop me from using my pc. But I do like all the options you can chose from in it.
bloodyrein
09-24-2010, 07:02 AM
Yeah Super converter is also useful but sometimes when I convert using that the output would have no subs so its kinda pretty risky in some sorts lol
IrishMonkee
09-24-2010, 07:09 AM
I believe the best way to pretty much guarantee that subs will be encoded with the video is to use mkvmerge and verify that the subs default track flag is set to yes and not default or no. Since default really only works when your playing the video like in MPC.

@inubazh11 - We won't be able to help you if you don't give more detail other than an audio error in bencos. That's about as helpful as telling an auto mechanic that your car is making a noise.
@Gilagamesh - you can upload even with a bad connection. You'll just have to use megamanager to upload if your connection drops so that it can pick up where it left off. If you upload via the web, if your connection drops, you'll have to start the upload all over again.
@menisa06 - I can usually download, encode, and upload 1 episode in under 2 hours. There are a lot of variables that come into play like: how big is the video file, where is it being downloaded from (i.e. bittorrent, direct download, IRC, etc...), how fast is the Internet connection download/upload speed, how fast is the computer (i.e. CPU [single, dual, quad, hex core], RAM, harddrive read/write, etc...), as well as if you'll be using the computer while the video is encoding.
But like Kobowo mentioned, you can do batch encoding as well as batch uploading. Also depending on where you download from, you can download multiple videos at a time.
@zevlag21 - Basically you can think of it like this, what you put in is going to effect what you get out. If you use a good to high quality video source (1080/720/480 BR/HD-DVD/DVD/HDTV etc...), the re-encoded video will come out with fairly good-high quality. If you use a SD quality (like a tv rip) or a crappy source (like a 90mb .rmvd file), the re-encoded video will come out with decent to bad quality.
You have to remember that the videos that you are downloading have already been encoded once (or twice) and have lost some quality from the original. So re-encoding the already once (or twice) encoded video will lose more quality especially when you are lowering the bit rate and file size. Now if you're going to delete the video once your done encoding, I'd say get the higher quality videos. If your going to keep the videos, I'd suggest archiving them to DVD's once your done encoding to free up space or just download SD quality videos.

IrishMonkee
11-17-2010, 08:02 AM
If the file is MKV, you should download MKVcleaver. Its based on the same idea as OGMcleaver. I believe you'll need to download MKVtoolnix as well.
You do know that you can delete your own post in a thread without having to edit it to "please delete this one" and have mod do it for you. You just need to click edit post, click the option for delete message, enter a reason (example would be double post, etc...), then click the delete post button.

You can give a title to an uploader or a moderator and he/she will check if the title has been already reserved by someone. The majority of the anime/drama on the request list has not been taken yet so you can take a look at the list to help you in choosing what to upload.

Give me a title and I'll check if it's already taken. If it's not, convert and upload a single episode on the anime and PM it to an admin and the video will be checked and verified if it has been correctly converted. The title will be now reserved under your name.

hello about:
"
4) Go to Settings Tab and change the following settings:
-Source: Generic
-Container: MPEG-4
-Video codec: MPEG4 AVC
-Audio codec: AAC HE+PS
-Video Quality: Normal
-Video Bitrate: 300
-Audio Bitrate: 48(check stereo)"
about the "audio bitrate: 48(checkstereo)" there is no "stereo" tick box like in the screenshot.
I've just downloaded bencos and tested it.

can some1 help me???
my problem when i add job...n' wait mkv convert to avi
something popups going out like my mencoder.exe is problem...
how to fix it????
?_?
Gonna need more info. You lost me at "n' wait mkv convert to avi, something popups going out like my mencoder.exe is problem". What are you using to encode the mkv to avi? what are the settings your using?... The more info you can provide, the better we can help you. Don't be afraid to post screen shots or describe with detail the process your using when getting the error.
I think I got the same weird look my mechanic gets when I take my car in and tell him its making a weird noise. lol

I have a question... What if the video I want to upload comes in dual audio...I downloaded an anime, and when I watched it it was in English. But there is an option in my VLC player that can make it dubbed Japanese and subbed in English. How can I make it permanently dubbed Japanese and subbed English when I upload it?

if your video is in mkv format you can directly convert it in bencos...the updated version of bencos allows you to choose what language the audio would be when encoded and the same goes for subs...I haven't tried it with dual audio yet but I've tried it with subs I think....
oh and bencos conversion depends on the pc specs...I have a friend whose laptop takes about 3 or more hours for a 20 min ep to be converted...my pc takes 45minutes to convert a 24 min ep and roughly 2 hours for a movie with 1 and a half hours

I keep getting a message saying "error #1" when the video is encoding. I've tried converting it into an MP4 in a different program and using Bencos to adjust the framerate and size to what the admins want, but I have yet to get past error #1 or whatever. Does anyone know an alternate program to Bencos to do this? Avich's instructions want us to use Bencos anyway, and I can't get the program to work.

Hey! I need urgent help! I CANT CONVERT ANYTHING USING OGMCLEAVER NOR ALLTOAVI.
1. When I use OGMCleaver, it gives me this file is not a ogm/mkv file which is false WTF :@
2. When I use AllToAvi, it says Mencoder has encountered a problem and needs to be closed urgently. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. WTF IS THIS?!

If I convert 40 eps in Bencos will it takes time to encode the same as encoding 1 ep?
After encoding it to Bencos will be it a streamable file?

If you encode 40 eps in bencos then that would take as long as 40 times of the time it takes you to encode 1 vid.
For me it takes 30 minutes to encode one episode. So 40 eps would take20 hours....and yes it will be a streamable file once it has been converted in bencos

Waahh! It takes a lot of time. But, does bencos eat up much CPU like when im using Xilisoft for example? Like, does bencos run on background like an antivirus? or can't i use xilisoft instead using the advanced settings of a streamable vid?
