Please share your experience(s) in a public transport that makes you annoyed

My experience:

Things I dislike in a Public Transport, wherein some commuters use headset or earphone with loud volume as if they own the whole transport
and also some Phone calls they speak so loud, I can hear the whole conversation

Especially, those who Yawns, didn't mind covering their mouths which is a bad manner

hmmm..

one thing I EXTREMELY hated in public transport like lRT is
that they tried to push people and get mad if they can't ride.
Also even though the LRT is already full they wanted to still rid in it.

-_-

I hate it when some passengers chooses to seat beside me when there's a lot of vacant seats.

wow :) LOL
I laugh at that one.

so how many times did you encountered that?

Here in my province, the basic transportation means is riding a tricycle. We don't have taxis. Jeepneys and buses are used for long trips to other towns in the province. Yeah, it's cheap. PhP 8.00 is the minimum tricycle fare. :18:

Oh God. It really annoys me when the tricycle driver has a bad body odor. Oh gross. Some inconsiderate drivers even use cellphone or smoke while driving. Sometimes I just want to stab them. While waiting for a tricycle, sometimes, tricycles with loaded passengers offering me to ride in there. The hell. A tricycle's usual capacity is only 6 passengers but there are some drivers who allow more passengers. Like this:

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/22/41148984_2bc38ffff5.jpg?v=0

=___=

Sometimes, when I'm in a hurry and in a bad mood, I act rude. I reply this to the tricycle driver:
*raises eyebrow* "Sain mo ako patukawon?!" [in Bicol dialect]
"So where do you plan to let me sit?!"

As much as possible, I want to be the only passenger when riding a tricycle.

Means of transportation here: Jeepney. I hate it when the driver is stopping over every street. You're in a hurry and that's the scenario that you'll see. Another is when you don't know that there is no vacant sit and the driver will still stop and say that there is still, then you'll enter then.. hmm. that's it.

When the person behind you is a kid who keeps kicking.
The worst was when I was traveling back from Japan to JFK, NY. 12 hour flight and the kid behind me was kicking the whole time.
After the first minute I turned around to yell at him then I found out he was mentally disabled.
So I just turned forward and took the kicking... for 12 hours.

When babies are crying so loud when you are trying to sleep [this happens to me alot when traveling overseas].

When someone snores very loud next to me... When trying to sleep.

When I can't keep my eyes off of the kind, beautiful flight attendant >.< .

When a movie I watch is supposed to be in english, but has foreign subtitles [while on a plane].

Yeah, you're right. I really hate that. But most of all is that when the conductor(in a public bus transportation) keeps on forcing you to squeeze with everyone else. That's so annoying.

I'm thinking what to share in here since I have tons of annoying experiences in public transportations. Hmmmm.

Here's one: In the Philippines, when you ride on a public utility jeepney, you are mostly not alone. The couch where you sit in has a parallel side. In each side, the conductor/driver would say it could fit in 12 people. Here's the part wherein I get annoyed most of the time. Sometimes, not all people are skinny or thin who will get on the transpo, there would be passengers that are twice larger my size that would ride the jeepney. Then the driver will constantly remind us that it is for 12 persons, and we should sit properly enough for others to sit. It's really annoying, since the driver doesn't understand the concept of "different body sizes". He insists and murmurs always something when a potential passenger would reject to ride since it's is crowded. Arrgggh. I hate that kind of drivers!

That's the least annoying thing I can think of right now aside from passengers who looks at me like I did something terrible, anyways there are tons of others.

I hope you enjoyed my misery. hehehe.

eclipser666

first, I really hate when someone smokes...
second, crying babies/kids...
third, like lemonsquare said...the jeepney can only accommodate 10 person, but they will insist that the seats are good for 12 people 0_0 hahaha...

those beggars that ride the jeep and hand out envelope saying
"Ako po ay isang Badjao. Humihingi po ako ng konting tulong mula sa inyo" [I am a Badjao. I'm asking for a little help from you]
and it's obvious that s/he's not a badjao. I mean why would you go to manila and be a beggar?

and when the driver stops at every stoplight to hoard passengers, it's really annoying especially when you're in a hurry. I got late once because of this.

I've never had any of that kind of experiences, in general when I ride the bus to get home is always nicve and quiet... or at least quiet enough to let me hear music XD
The only bad thing that has ever happened to me is arriving late to the bus station and having to make almost the entire travel standing, since it takes at least half an hour before the first people can actually get down and sometimes up to 45 minutes to finally have an available seat where to sit on

I had to read your title again to get it o.o as the first thing i saw was the W.T.F picture of so many thingies in a what we call in Singapore is a MRT (Mass Rapid Transit). Xiety, I wanna tell you something cool. In the MRT, it is usually underground and that is cool as others just can't really chat on the phone as the signal literally gets cut off and i've tried to send a SMS (Text Message) to my friend while I was in the MRT as I forgotten about it.

Well I really hate people who are jerks that take up two spaces as if they are the next generation of the fatties as in one for themselves one for their precious little shytty bag o.o

Very true. Thats the Singaporean style tho they were taught to let passengers alight first. Its not like as if they care. They see the door open they rush in like as if the door closes that fast.

Ooo, I get to make another hate list :D
1) I hate it when its packed
2) I hate when people put the volume on their headsets loud. Even worse when its crappy music that I dislike D:
3) When people I dont know sit next to me...lol
4) People with horrible body odors.
5) People who talk so loud, be it on cell phones or with other people who are RIGHT next to them -__-
6) Children. Mostly when their parents let them roam around and they start touching everything...
7) Crying babies. To me, this is the most annoying sound in the universe.
8) This could apply to body odors I guess...but when people still have the stench of smoke hanging on them. I think its nasty...
9) When I get asked for the time xD
10) When beggars ask me for money.
Thats all I can think of atm.

Yeah thats so true. Ever time I try to get off the train many will simply rush straight in as though I'm invisible. Well there are very limited seats and the doors will wait for you before closing so I don't see the point in rushing..

No not as though you're invisible. Its as though either
1. they have no collision size (impossible to collide ; passes through your body like some ghost)
2. they think they are so skinny that they can even fit under the MRT seats (the space there is unbelieveably small as you r only suppposed to place your bag there)
3. Blind, pajiao, cockeye, etc etc...

And also although it is very alerting, I hate the Dim Sum Dollies' "TRAIN IS COMING TRAIN IS COMINGGGGGGGG" stupid theme song >.<"

imagine an empty jeep except you and the driver.
you pay for the fare and take the seat at the farthest side, enjoying the wide and open space for you.
then there comes another passenger.

the said passenger insists to sit at your place. you have no choice but to comply and scoot over.
annoying, right?

worse, if he asks you to reach his pay to the driver. friggin' annoying D:<

AND MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE:

You see the jeep already packed. Looking like it's ready to go, you expect the ride to go on.
BUT NO.

the barker (or sometimes, the driver) still insists that there's still SPACE left for more passengers!
worse, when a passenger actually falls for it and sits on a space of merely inches.
leaving the rest of us passengers to be left in a can of sardines-like situation -________-

After reading all of these horror stories I'm glad I live in an American city that doesn't really have (or even need) a public transportation service. I'm very appreciative of the fact that I have my own car, haha. I can honestly say that the only public transportation I've ever used are the cute little trollies that go through the tourist district. They're never crowded and always smell nice XD

I barely ride buses but whenever I ride one, I notice so much annoying scenarios:
-Babies puking, crying, laughing. Oh The Pain.
-Men sleeping and in a feel-at-home position.
-People eating balot, chicharon with vinegar, and such.
-People who smoke.
-PDA (Public display of affection) Uhm. Hello? If you want to kiss each other just do it in private. I don't want to see scenes like that. Makes me feel angry and.. .. :foreveralone:
-Too many people. Gosh.
-Body odor of people, or anything that smells awful.
-So much baggages that are on the way! I can't even get out because of those on my way.
-People who look at stuffs that are my only source of entertainment.
-Sounds that are too loud
and many more.

Tricycle
-Gaaah. Drivers who shows me their annoyed face when I tell them what Phase am I at. If they don't like where I live, then just say it to my face and I'll go. I mean hello? I am not forcing them to bring me to my house.
-Body odor. OH HEAVENS.
-Kids. Annoying kids.

Jeepneys
-Oh the drivers that smoke, even though a sticker clearly says: NO SMOKING.
-Unpleasant scent of the jeepney itself.
-Disgusting scenarios like PDA's , Kids who wipe their noses with their shirts, babies who puke, people who dig their noses and many more.
-People who ask for money with their young offsprings! Poor children, forced to do those things. The adults looks like they're strong enough to even work for themselves though.
-People who eat.
and many more.

I hate it when you ride on a jeepney. Especially in the front, when you see the "NO Smoking sticker" and the driver himself is smoking. I mean if you the driver agreed to have that particular sticker on your dashboard. Shouldn't you discipline yourself and stop smoking? And if a passenger in the front is smoking. Shouldn't he stop coz of the sticker? Or at least give face to the person next to him? Its really annoying >_<

Everytime I ride the jeepney, i would rather sit not near from the driver, because in this case I will be taking all the money from the other passengers as fare for the jeepney and give them to the driver....it annoys me and my sleeping...
I also hate it when people are talking out loud, and also squeezing more passengers in even there is no space...

Yeah, I really hate that. What if they have bad mouth disease? Hopefully they do not have one. If by chance they splatter me with their "shower". I make a simplify wipe on whatever without them knowing. I don't want to embarrass them. So I pretend that it didn't happen. If the "shower" occurs again, by god I hope I am miles away.

Here in SoCal public transportation are opened to a lot of people. Since there are a lot of homeless (most coming from mental institutions because of a lack of funding), they will ride with their very bad body stenches of urine and months of body odor along with any junk and trash they accumulate over the course of their life on the street. Also there are some very rude teenagers/youngin's who are very rude and will not provide their seat when all the seats are taken to the elderly. One last thing that irks me is the rudeness of people period in public. Most of the time I catch couples having very open public displays of affection that should be kept in private.

As much as possible, I want to be the only passenger when riding a tricycle.

.___. they allow that many people in a single trike? >_> that should be banned and law should be enforced to stop that...it could also be dangerous...an accident with that many people would be disastrous >_>

hmmm our tricycles are built so that they can hold 6 passengers normally...I prefer it when I have one of any sections to my self...I don't mind if the others seats are taken XD

annoying scenarios....I think one of the MOST annoying scenario I almost always have to deal with is the jeepneys who keep on waiting for FOREVER thinking that there would be people that would ride...only to find out that those people are going elsewhere and they themselves already know it...it would be fine if it was like 30 seconds but nooooo they have to wait for like 2-3 minutes -_-

another annoying scenario is when the conductor on a bus forcefully makes you go to the back of the bus even when the bus isn't full yet...I don't get it...I mean there aren't alot of people yet anyways...

Oh and also I hate it when you're inside an FX and people answer their cellphones with such a loud voice...too loud its like they can't see that there are other people...some sleeping and some are chatting...kinda rude...

I'm a public transportation virgin - well for the most part. I usually have a ride home, or wherever I'm going, or I walk. I guess the closest thing to public transportation for me would be the school bus, which was a long time ago. From what I remember, kids would always kick the back of my seat. I found that insanely annoying, as I was the type of kid who would always sit next to the window and sleep.

After reading the posts, i was like "yeah, yeah so true T.T" anyway, lemme share some experience in these Public Utility Vehicles.

>>Train (LRT or MRT)<<
1. loud noise - e.g. talking loud, even if her/his companion is just beside him/her; loud mp3 players, large groups of people talking at the same time
2. body odor
3. "sardines in a can" situation - e.g. pushing when passengers are coming in; forcing herself/himself in even if "half of him" won't fit; others won't allow you to go through their group even though you asked politely (especially when you're alighting the train)
4. busted AC or AC in "ultra-low cool mode" resulting to high temp especially when the train is packed
5. public display of affection - i don't know why, but my eyes seem to know where these things happen. where i turn my head, i see it. most hardcore PDA that i witnessed is same sex. made my mood very bad.
6. cross-dressers and transvestites- yeah i know that's a given, but i wish they used something not so revealing.

>>Jeepneys<<
1. overloading - just like the other people mentioned, the driver or barker is forcing 14 people in a 10 capacity seat.
2. body odor
3. smoking even though there is a "no smoking" sticker
4. unruly passengers - e.g. they tell you to quit shoving even though he/she is the one shoving you; people who ignore you when you need to pass your fare to the driver; public display of affection; male passenger who seats with legs wide open (can't squeeze their balls, Filipino OS members know this); female passengers who seat in an uneven fashion making other passengers lose their seats
5. garbage sound system - jeepneys here in the Philippines does not customize for the comfort of the passengers. they customize their stereo, too much that your ears can't handle it. they even play garbage sound tracks to match their garbage stereo set. its the reason why some drivers can't hear you when you need to go down.
6. criminals riding with you - sounds crazy but it happens. i'm a victim of a jeepney hold-up.
7. drivers and barkers that do not follow the fare matrix - they ask for a higher fare just to have extra money to buy cigarette to smoke.
8. beggars - i'm a good citizen, but sometimes there are "beggar hotspots". one time, one beggar with envelopes came asking for money inside the jeep i'm in. i gave some and that beggar went out happy. not less than 5min another beggar showed up asking ONLY ME for money. now that's business, in a bad manner.
9. stopping every moment to take passengers and overstaying
10. cross-dressers and transvestites

>>Buses<<
1. criminals riding with you
2. body odor or the smell of the bus (be it vomit or meat or fish or crap)
3. overcrowding or overloading
4. unruly conductor
5. cross-dressers or transvestites - especially when they sit beside me and looks at me in a different way

>>Tricycles<<
1. unruly drivers - they can tell me if they don't want me to take me to my destination, but they don't have to make face or curse at me
2. drivers not following fare matrix - same as jeepney drivers, they ask for extra money just buy themselves cigarettes to smoke
3. body odor
4. overloading

There, i seem to have made my longest post... i'm so sorry but yeah this kind of topics make me emotional... thanks...

I hate it when young people do not give way to old people. I also hate it when someone reaches his/her hand to pay his fare to the driver (jeepney scenario) then nobody near that person reaches for his hand to help him >.< it pisses me off. It also annoys me when people would not move to give space for another person to sit on.

I know what you mean, some people just don't care whether or not the elderly have a seat. However, WiwoYuioDesu makes a good point on how they decline your offer, so maybe that's why they don't even bother asking? lol I doubt it though.

What I hate in a public transport like the jeepney. Is that last night when I was traveling to hang out in my fav internet cafe to play dota. I noticed a sticker sign stating "Thank you for not smoking". Then a few seconds later I noticed a smell of cigarette in the air. What I saw was the driver himself is smoking. Unbelievable, such a hypocrite. Putting a sticker on your jeep stating that you are thankful that you are not smoking. Only to find out that you yourself is smoking. He should put another sticker stating..."Thank you for not smoking. Coz I'm the only one who should be the only one smoking".

one thing that I hate in public transport is that they don't know how to give a way to the people who will go out in the station and some of the perverts using these chance to take advantage, some people using mp3 players on a loud volume is like show off to me that they have those things and not all of them are gentleman to let the elder people sit

here in iloilo city, philippines.
first: we have this so called yellow lane. it is where the loading and unloading of of passengers should be done. i hate it when people would say "manong para"- please stop the jeepney, and the yellow lane is still far away from the place he/she would like the jeepney to stop.
second: the yellow lane should be for loading and unloading area of passengers, but it annoys me most is that there are many stupid people from our place that used the yellow lane for a parking space.
third: when your in the jeepney you cant avoid sitting with people, most likely if you sit next to the driver, the most annoying part is when a person say "bayad gane"- "my fare" without saying please or thank you. *sigh*

I hate it when people especially guys (from like 20 onwards) talk to me!!!!!! Like one time in the bus, he was like, whats your name blah blah blah the he asked my work and stuff then name. I mean first of all, do I look like a working woman? I'm only a student. -_- Ugh. Second, do i look like i will give my number? It pisses me off. I remembered one time, there was this mr who keeps on talking, i pretend that I'm asleep the whole ride. My neck was hurting then but what to do! LOL It pisses me of. /fist
