Historically, they say being drawn and quartered is the worst way to die: the tie your hands and feet to different horses and make them run different directions till ur ripped apart. (its true!)

+ Keep them alive:
-The moment they die, you lose. Quite simple. This eliminates such methods as burning, suffocation, removal of vital organs.

+ Offer psychological torture:
- Example: Slowly kill family members (including but not limited to parents and children)/friends/loved ones gruesomely as they watch
- To improve on this: Pretend to offer them a way to free the selected family member (The task should be too difficult or painful to complete so that when they get to see the gruesome elimination of the member while convinced that they are the ones that failed to save them).

+ Keep them Conscious and Aware:
- As some say, you should do everything in moderation. The body has a very effective pain blocking reaction. The most basic one is unconsciousness (which can vary from knocked out to coma). Another common one is insanity. If insanity occurs, you have failed.

+ Let them see and Anticipate:
- Who doesn't like to have things to look forward to? If you allow them to keep their eyesight, they can be allowed to enjoy and anticipate every action you take! While the eyes are often a highly desired area to designate pain, visual torture can and usually is much worse. Allowing them to see themselves fall to your pleasure is humiliating and painful.

+ Offer False hope:
- Offer them chances to escape. If you're a pro at what you do, you should easily coax this hope out of them. Allow them to beg, please, bargain, and even almost escape! This is a part of Psychological Torture.

+ Humiliation:
- Even at the (almost) utmost height of suffering, one will retain scraps of dignity. Humiliate them while mutilating them.
