Okay, I know that we're not supposed to post anything religious here in OS, may it be forums or blogs or whatnot...
But I really want to share this story with everyone... so please excuse me...
I'll put it under a spoiler tag... I hope it doesn't get deleted... this was given during a preaching just now...
Once there was a boy who was always been physically and verbally abused by his parents. Because of this, he became a bully, around school and at the streets. He didn’t care who, he just beat up anyone he sees. And he grew up in that same manner.
Now, there was a time when a man passed by “his territory.” So he and his friends beat him up.
The next day, that same man walked by the alley again and the bully and his gang beat him up again.
It was not long until that man kept on walking the same route back and forth through the alley where that bully and his gang hang out. In that same manner, they keep beating him up to a near-death situation whenever he does so.
One day, after another day of brutal beating, the bully yelled at him, “Why do you always have to go through this alley?! We’re already beating you up good! Are you stupid or something?!”
Then, the man replied, “I keep using this route, because I know that there’s something good inside you. I know that there’s a little love in your heart. You are loved. I love you. God loves you.”
This surprised the bully, even so, he beat up that man even more.
That night, the bully couldn’t sleep. He thought about what that man said. Despite beating him up, to the point where he should be hospitalized, he said with an honest voice, you are loved, I love you, God loves you.
That next day… the man walked the same route again… but the bully and his gang didn’t beat him up, instead, they followed him to where he was going.
They stopped when he entered a building where there was lots of singing. There was praise and joy coming out of that building.
The bully and his gang enter the building.
And everyone there came to greet them, they shook their hands, tapped their backs, gave them hugs.
But the best thing they gave them was love. God’s unconditional love.
God is love. And God loves you.
Whoever follows God follows love.
No matter who you are or what you have done, God still loves you.
Even the bully who did not care about who he beat up. That same boy who was hated by his parents. Who grew up in the world of hate.
He has found the greatest love anyone can find. A love that is given to everyone.
A love that is unconditional. A love that is true and will never fail.
Let us never forget, that despite our failures, despite our falls, despite all the sins that we have ever committed, even if we say from our heart that we hate God, He loves us. God loves us.
That is God’s gift to everyone.
The greatest gift anyone can receive.
Love.
God bless us all.
