I think there should be search function on OS to sort/search the ever growing list of anime by genre.

you can just take the genre shown there. I don't know much about website programing and i don't want to make a ton of work for you or jbluey, but i think this might be the greatest thing ever. (almost)

Yeah thats a great idea. Darn wish i suggested it lol. I thought of that too since its kinda hard to distinguish animes that you havent seen before. Cause most of the time the titles are not a reliable basis on what that anime is. :emhh03:

Hmm... Sometimes it's tough to classify a particular anime to a particular genre because they overlap most of the time

What I'd suggest, for one, is make it so when you uploaders add new anime series, simply make it so there is a list of sorts to classify the genre for the anime. Make sure to have the more general ones in there, action, comedy, romance, drama, and simply have it (on the programming side) that they put this into a value saved somewhere, ideally wherever you keep the database for all your animes currently. Just have it so that in there, it separates the names by a ";", and just separate each of them. After cycling through each of them and finding which anime suits the first argument/genre, it continues cycling through that list for the next genre you were looking for, until singling them out. If you end up with none, just remove one of the genres and try then!

I had been hoping for something like this the longest time. Plus, there needs to be a different way for sorting the animes as well. Total view count, rating, etc.

Hell, you could even add a new rank for people who are known to be good critics of animes on this site. Make it so that their ratings are on an individual basis, and then make it so you can sort by those.

Just some various ideas.

huhu.. i didnt know there is another post for what i suggested. Well this one is really useful and will make OS easy to brows for anime..

Jim just recently added a Genre search function on the anime index page. Hope you guys like it ^^
