I like them both. Calm friends are the one will help you if you have have problems and cheerful friends make you laugh if you are sad. I do not mind the characteristics of my friends though. As long as they are true to me and will never leave me alone I will be glad to have that kind of friends.

I will go with calm as I am the cheerful, emotional, highly charged person whose mercurial by nature and if my friend was the same - we wouldnt last. Therefore I prefer someone calm to hang around.
