i have played quite a few anime games
here are some i own for PS3.
- Blasblue is a 2d arcade style fighter
- Resonance of Fate is a turn based RPG that uses Guns but the gameplay style isn't for everyone
- Star Ocean The Last Hope is a RPGas well. i thought it was pretty good
- Disgaea is a game that requires you to dedicate a lot of time into it if. especially the after story, i loved it.
- Atelier Rorona is a game thats pretty much like Harvest Moon. only you have to fight monsters along the way.
- Tales of Vesperia was a pretty good RPG experiance with a decent story.
-Trinity Universe to me was a pretty fun game mixing characters from different anime/games. the graphics may not be the best but the game is still enjoyable.
one PS3 game i'm waiting for would be Neptune, it looks awesome.
but i still think the best anime games are lunar 1 &2 for the PS1. i still got the box sets.

Tales of~ series
Star Ocean series
Disgaea series
.hack series, older series though
Blazblue
Golden Sun series
...are the ones I can think of. Most of them are JRPGs, but then again, most "anime games" are JRPGs or visual novels.

Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yugi the Destiny, Kaiba the Revenge and Joey the Passion
Those are one of the first anime games I've ever played and I still have fun playing them from time to time~ its nice to play the game even though the graphics are kinda corny but the game still is good even if the ai has no other difficulties....

Hmm... that little detail "Good" disqualified every Naruto, One Piece, Dragon Ball Z and Square Enix title, but i think i can still name a few with an anime style presentation. The Disgaea series might be worth checking out, same with the Persona series. Actually checking out Atlus and the Shin Megami Tensei titles altogether might be the right path to take.

A good game based on an anime? No. No such thing exists. A good game with an anime like theme? Yes.
Avalon Code:
Though it gets pretty weak in regards to writing, this Nintendo DS game plays with a fascinating concept and interesting gameplay mechanics. And weirdly, the opening animation video plays with a pretty good song in the background.
No More Heroes:
A game done by Suda51, a quirky maniacal genius behind Killer 7, one of my personal favorites. No More Heroes has an interesting sword fighting mechanic, fun minigames, a juvenile but still funny sense of humor, and the main character Travis tanks so much abuse in cutscenes Monkey D. Luffy would think he's tougher than nails. It's available on the Wii, and on the PS3 under the title No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise. Don't try to buy No More Heroes 2 first though.
Killer 7:
Available on the Nintendo GameCube and PS2, Killer 7 was the game that contributed to Suda51's fame/notoriety. It's a rail shooter with surprisingly intimidating enemies and a trippy but deep plot. But it's also pretty dark, so it's not a game for everyone. If you cannot stomach Hellsing, you won't be able to stomach this.
Portal:
Not technically an anime game, but this little 3 hour puzzle romp is just absurdly fun, so i can't help but put a recommendation here. It's available on the PS3 and 360 via The Orange Box which contains a few Half-Life titles and Team Fortress 2. It's also available on Valve's Steam system which allows you to download games online.
Catherine:
This is a niche game for several reasons. It's a very difficult puzzle game, and some people may not like the main character who is kind of a pushover. But it's still amusing, especially with the Catherine True ending.
Disgaea:
Now Disgaea is an obscure tactical RPG series with grid based combat. The first Disgaea title, Hour of Darkness, is available on the PS2, PSP, and Nintendo DS. Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories is also a PS2 title, though i think there may have been a PSP port for that one. Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice is exclusive to the PS3, and i've heard talk of a Disgaea 4 in the works. I'd recommend you check out a handheld title to get a feel for it and determine whether or not you like it because again, it's niche appeal.
VanQuish:
A Western style action game directed by Shinji Mikami, the man behind a few interesting gems like Resident Evil 4. Fast paced and action packed.
Zone of the Enders:
I've heard that an HD collection for this game series is coming out soon. Zone of the Enders is a mech combat game which is like a Gundam game BUT with a faster pace. Now the first Zone of the Enders game stars an annoying little kid called Leo Steinbuck, but Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner is a lot of fun in my opinion. It's hard to find, but again, you may want to reserve the HD collection if you have a chance.
