I think a delete thread button for your self-started thread will be useful. sometimes there can be accidents where a user started a new thread in the wrong section of the forums. can make the forum moderators' job easier as they would have to relocate lesser threads to specific places.
(unless there is already a delete thread button which i do not know of, by then if i found about it later, this thread will disappear)

I have to agree on this idea. Or rather than delete, a closed up function of the thread starter is also a good choice.

I have to agree in this one. I see no Delete Thread in my started thread which is placed here in the suggestion area. But I saw a close thread button under the administrative something option in the lounge. other than that, none. So, this is a good idea because this might minimize the shame of us, making threads that are already there and destroying the order in this place. I want both...

I have to agree also. There are times when Ive submitted a thread by mistake, or if I made a thread with the same topic as another. Id like to delete these myself....It would make the forum mod's job easier also (if only slightly).

it's better to have a delete thread button rather than having all those people commenting "this is a duplicate thread"

Yes, moreover the OS Forum search is still not up yet, hence it's hard to search for a possible duplicate thread before setting up your own one. A delete thread function would be better rather close thread function...closing a thread still allows access to it, and it clogs up the forum.

no you can delete your post, but you cannot delete your thread. click on "edit post", and there will be a button "delete" to the left of the "cancel" button to delete your post

I agree it will be both useful for the members and moderators. We should have this one because if we sometimes mistaken creating the thread in a wrong section of forum we can just delete it or closed it(mlcdl's suggestion).

Yup, like everyone I agree also.
The second thread that I made was a repeat thread so that ended up getting merged with the original one.
But there are many forum moderators now so the work for keeping the forum clean of 'repeat', 'accidental', spam threads will be easier.
