Nice. Let me guess, is this going to be a shoujo manga?
Putting in characters of different characters is good, and I easily noticed that this is a character-based novel so I guess, I have an idea on how the plot will go.
Tips:
1. I think it is harder to write up a character-based story than the plot-based one, because you have to research or experience their way of living. For example, if you are writing about a musician, you have to be a musician yourself or know a musician in order to familiarize with their lifestyle.
2. Focus on 1 or 2 character each separate arc or chapter. It is sometimes confusing to introduce all the characters immediately at the start of the story. Create and in incorporate your ideas in a go-yukkuri style.
Here are my tips but actually do not necessarily follow them if you feel you didn't agree with it. This is the way I write my own story, so try to write your own story in your own personalized way. There are no rules in creating art or writing a literature work.

Thanks for the tips ^_^ I've always loved character based stories, and of all the plots I've thought up, this is the only one that is more character-centric. As you suggested, I plan to start off with only 3 main characters and have the others slowly come in as the story progresses. The plot will most likely have to do with the corruption that comes with wealth and power. I'm thinking that the characters will go through struggles learning about how the world really works and help each other start a movement that will make the world a better place. But these are all just thoughts at the moment ^.^
