Would someone please explain animes like Peach Girl. I mean really the girls in animes like this really p*** me off. Just like Hachiko from Nana. I'm not saying that Nana isn't a good anime, it really is....but characters like Hachiko who simply fail to learn from their mistakes time and time again because they are constantly falling in love at first sight. Then they remain completely blind to what is happening until it ends badly and they try to play the victim even though the entire situation was caused by their own idiocy.:emh24: It is stuff like that, that really gets me :emh27: Don't even get me started on Momo from Peach Girl who jumps from boy to boy back and forth while being fooled by her boyfriend stealing "bff" who she secretly knows is a little witch! I know what you're talking about, and it aggravates me as well. I couldn't believe the girl when I watched the first episode of Peach Girl, and I haven't watched it since. Thats why I'm sort of shying away from shojo, because its seems all the female characters are becoming the same. I'm sticking to shonen series, comedy series and slice-of-life series. I really cant stand shojo anymore.

I haven't watched Peach Girl yet but I did watch NANA. It did piss me off when she kept going back to that guy, which had no feelings(at that time) but I guess thats the kind of girl she was ;x

I agree, it's upsetting when the main characters aren't learning from past mistakes like Hachiko from NANA. That said the animes wouldn't be the same without theese frustrating moments.
I loved NANA for several reasons I got touched by the story, they played some kickass music, but mainly because I could relate to the drama.
I think making the same wrong choices over and over again is a human flaw, it's something we all do we are just not that aware of it because our own lifes are so up-close. When watching Hachiko messing up her happiness because of bad choices again and again it's very obvious to us as bystanders and therefore very frustration.
I suppose the wrong choices she makes is a consequences of her personality and as such it's very hard to learn from previous mistakes since that would mean changing who she is.. or something...
My point is, even though it's frustrating would we really want it any other way?

I know what you mean and that means the anime you watched that affected you is really good because thats the anime * the one you are watching * is trying to get to its viewers....

It is what many teenage girls do in real life too. Just being somewhat dumb and quite naive.

A lot of people are realistically like that; one of my best friends is actually exactly like Momo. They're very dramatic so they're much more fun to use in animes ;)

But yeah, it does anger me, too. When I read the manga like 5 years ago, I kind of sympathized more but watching the anime 4 years later, I was knocking things off my desk raging. It's really dumb but you know. Moronic things like that add drama. Drama = good.
