VOLUNTEER SLAVE LABOUR ANYONE?


Well the good news is that after all the changes, OS has been growing in leaps and bounds. We are averaging around 1000 people on line at any given moment which is something we only dreamed about when we started this site 18 months ago.

However this now leaves us with a site that's like a growing child ... something than needs constant supervision and monitoring

Therefore before our current Mods quit on us (and I know they are thinking about it with the load we have been putting on them), pls post here if you want to apply as a Forum and Video Moderator

Applicants should at the very least be a "Regular Member and should be online on OS for a minimum of 1-2 hrs daily. A good internet connection is a must for those applying to be video mods and a decent command of English is preferred.

In return for your slave... I mean volunteer *snicker* labour, all we can offer is the opportunity to be part of an awesome team on one of the only truly free streaming site on the web!! *Holds Carrot*

It has been a year. A YEAR. Since I joined OS. And I have had many of these opportunities pass by me, due to school and a horrible computer. Now, while the looming thought of college (I just graduated HS) tries to hold me back, I must not let it! And now that there is a possibility of me getting a computer that doesn't turn off on me every 30-40 minutes, I can do it.

I would like to apply to be a forum mod.
I am always on at some point in time.
And I have nothing better to do. :D

EDIT: Forgot some things. I am very fluent in English, and in Spanish (like that's gonna help here D: ). I've also been a mod on two different forums which both went under due to inactivity D:

I've been noticing a lot of newly registered members lately, and, well...
I think I'd want to help out, keeping things in control.
I do think that my English is fluent enough, and I'm online most of the time (especially over midnights and daybreaks).
I know quite the generally used Japanese terms... and the basic Filipino language (which, many members insist on using).
Been here since January 2009, and I can confidently say that I know the site well enough,
along with its rules and regulations (I've read them countless times, just to make sure I'm not on the wrong side or anything... Lol.)

And.. yeah. School's about to start, and I have nothing better to do. (I don't plan to focus on my studies, as always >.>)

You see, I've been here in OS since January 17, 2010 and I'm always free especially summer vacation and school days (YES nothing to do in the house, just sit back, relax, chatting in OSCB) I always want to volunteer as a forum moderator. If I've been pick by the "Uppers". I'll try my best to do my job and to make OS clean.

My maximum time Online during weekdays is 4-5 hours, While weekends it's 4:00am - 9:00am and 4:00pm - 9:00pm

You would not consider 10 Mbit upload to be quick? The stream uses less than DVD quality, hence 480p uploads would be more than enough, minutes at most to upload. I think my post also clarifies i have capable english :)
As for regular, well that is up to the admin i suppose, exceptions should always be possible.

Been here for a while now, OS citizen.. I had lotsa experiences now, knows the rules and etc etc. I can speak English and sometimes be helpful too, I don't mind doing slave work..
Online for a couple of hours, although sometimes not straight, depends on the day. without school: more than 3 hours. with school: more than an hour or so. depends.

Hours online:Usually I'm online whenever I have the time, pretty much from when I come home from school to the time I go to bed on weekdays (4PM - 1AM EST), except for when I have major projects to do... So I'd say around 5 - 9 hours a day depending on my mood. I should be free all day on Saturday and Sunday.
Language: I think I'm fluent enough in English for the positions (currently finishing grade 11 in Canada), and I also know some Chinese if that helps.
Speed: I think my internet speed is fine, around 10Mpbs, although my upload speed is capped at ~10% of my downloading speed.
Reason: I've been a part of OS since March of '09 and OS has quickly grown to become one of my favourite sites to go to if not the favourite site. One of the main reason I love this site so much is how the community is very friendly, and that everything is very clean (no flaming, random ads ect.) and I really want to help keep this site the way it is. I know how busy the staffs are on OS, and I would do my best to help them in any way possible.
