Anyway, Deadman Wonderland is made by the same guy who made Eureka Seven.
I'll try to explain it the best I can without spoilers. 10 years after a huge earthquake in Japan called the Great Tokyo Earthquake, which sank 70% of Japan, Ganta, a survivor of the earthquake (but he has no memory of it), is in school when a man covered in blood arrives. He then slaughters every single one of his classmates, but leaves him alive and plants a strange crystal in his chest. Ganta gets convicted of the murders (death sentence) and is sent to Deadman Wonderland, a prison which doubles as a tourist attraction. That's about as much as I can give you.

As it turns out it is really a very grim story about child abuse - not only is Rin being abused but so are her two friends, just in different ways ... the poor teacher already got called down for trying to help the girls once .... very sad state of affairs.. I am not sure how the writers are going to resolve the plot .. I don't look for a happy ending though. If I had to guess based on a recent episode, one or more suicides are likely when the girls get a little older.
