The 44th volume of the Cobalt Salon flyer for Shueisha's Cobalt Bunko novel imprint lists a Fall 2010 live-action film adaptation of Oyuki Konno's Maria Watches Over Us (Maria-sama ga Miteru) light novels. The light novels follow the personal relationships within the student body of Lillian Girls' Academy. The series has shipped 5.4 million copies and inspired four anime seasons.

Personally I wonder who they will be casting in the key roles, and can't wait to watch another installment in the franchise.

I just hope they preserve the same atmosphere from the anime. The tranquility is what makes it so enjoyable for me :D.

I haven't watched the anime yet, but this is truly a great news!
I'm definitely looking forward to this and start watching the anime. ^^

Let's just hope that the Live Action won't fail.

About a year ago there was a report on Sankaku that a 5th season of the anime was also being planned ... I haven't seen anything about that since. Hope they don't take the yuri element out of the live show ...

I'd consider it more shojou ai personally. Anyways, I came across this when I was trying to find out if they had green-lit a 5th season yet or not. So far I haven't found any evidence that they have.

Wow. They're making a live action movie & when I have stopped watching after the first season. This show must be really popular

I was overall disappointed with this show, due to the fact that I found it to be generally slow and aggravatingly bland. Will give the movie a try to see if they can pull off catching my interest.

I wonder if the LA version will make the yuri action a little more graphic than animes ....
