here is mine:

i`m something. i`m nothing.
i am short. i am tall.
when you fall at your sport, then i stumble and fall.
i have never been seen yet beneath a new moon.
i thrive in the evening but vanish at noon.
i am lighter than air, i weigh less than a breath;
Darkness destroys me, and light is my death.

A man needs to send important documents to his friend across the country. He buys a suitcase to put the documents in, but he has a problem: the mail system in his country is very corrupt, and he knows that if he doesn't lock the suitcase, it will be opened by the post office and his documents will be stolen before they reach his friend.
There are lock stores across the country that sell locks with keys. The only problem is that if he locks the suitcase, he has no way to send the key to his friend so that the friend will be able to open the lock: if he doesn't send the key, then the friend can't open the lock, and if he puts the key in the suitcase, then the friend won't be able to get to the key.
The suitcase is designed so that any number of locks can be put on it, but the man figures that putting more than one lock on the suitcase will only compound the problem.
After a few days, however, he figures out how to safely send the documents. He calls his friend who he's sending the documents to and explains the plan.
What is the man's plan?

The plan is this:
The man will put a lock on the suitcase, keep the key, and send the suitcase to his friend.
The friend will then put his own lock on the suitcase as well, keep the key to that lock, and send the suitcase back to the man.
The man will use his key to remove his lock from the suitcase, and send it back to the friend.
The friend will remove his own lock from the suitcase and get to the documents.

riddle:There once was an evil wizard. He took 3 woman from their homes and turned them into rose bushes that looked exactly alike. He put them in his garden. One of the woman had a husband and children and begged the wizard to let her see them. He agreed. At night, he brought the woman to her house. In the morning he came and took her home. One day the husband decided to go rescue her. So he snuck into the wizard's garden. He looked and looked at the 3 identical rose bushes trying to figure out which could be his wife. Suddenly, he knew the answer and he took his wife home. How did he know which rose bush was his wife?

Qualtz

The Evil Wizard took the wife home, which means she's inside the wizard's house and not on the garden. That's how the husband knew which was his wife.

>_>

The wizard brought the rosebush to her home at night and returned her to the garden in the morning. Therefore, she was the only plant without dew.

*The flaw to the riddle is that the time which the evil wizard took the wife and the follow up of the husband is vague. It didn't said that the husband decided to sneak on the evil wizard's garden
after he took the wife back home. It only said "One day" which could be any day but the day after. In conclusion, My answer is acceptable :D

The King calls in three wise men and tells them to all close their eyes. While their eyes are closed, he goes around and puts a hat on each of them.
"I put a blue or white hat on each of you," the King says. "I won't tell you what color each hat is, but I promise you that at least one of you has a blue hat."
"Now open your eyes," he continues. "You may not communicate with each other at all. Within one hour, one of you must call out the color of your own hat. If you aren't able to do this, or if anyone calls out the wrong color, I will have you all exiled from the kingdom."
The wise men open their eyes and look at the other mens' hats. They stand there for almost the whole hour in silence, thinking. Just as time is about to run out, all three men figure out the color of their own hats and yell the colors out at the same time.
You can assume that all three men are perfect logicians, that they know that the others are perfect logicians, and that they all think at the same speed.
What colors are the three men's hats?

if it's the right answer then I have one as well

here's how it goes : We have a rich king in his deathbed. That king has two sons that claim his huge fortune with equal rights. The king wanting to test his sons' wisdom and have the wisest son proceed him in his throne utters one riddle before dying "My fortune will go to the one whose camel reachessecondthe "Random" Town. Upon hearing the riddle and each craving to be the next king, Prince A and Prince B hop on their camels, camel A and camel B, and set on a journey to reach the "Random" Town. While on the first half of their journey they were going really fast when they reached the middle of the distance between the palace and "Random" Town, they stopped. They made something like a camp in the middle of nowhere and stayed there for days, weeks, months... the one waiting the other to set off first so that the other one would follow second and get the gold.
There was this merchant that happened to pass from their camp each month and one day, after 2 years had already passed and seeing that the two princes wouldn't move from their camp, he approached them and asked what the situation was about. The two Princes told the wise merchant about their father's riddle. Then the merchant told them something, the princes grabbed their camels and set off to the "Random" Town as fast as they could.

So here's the question : What did the merchant tell them to do?

Qualtz
01-26-2012, 09:07 AM
Well, the king only said "whose camel reaches second", not person so naturally, you'd go first and pull the camel with you.

In short, the merchant told prince A & B that solution.

LouNa
01-26-2012, 09:17 AM
wait wait...I think you've got the right answer but you have to state it clearly xD you mean for example that Prince A would have to grab camel B right? 'cause that's the answer ^^

here's another one..you're inside a room with no exits. none at all..in that room there's a bathtub from which the water is constantly running and it will flood the whole room in a timespan of 7 hours. There's some kind of "rescue-team" but it can only save you after 8 hours. What you have with you is one boat, one spoon, a bucket and a couple of tea-cups. How will you survive?

Qualtz

LouNa
01-26-2012, 09:45 AM
heheheh~ here I go...(I've heard a similar one so I hope the aswer applies here as well)

I guess the adventurer's statement must be something that's both true and false..

the chief said "if you're false I'll roast you in a pit if you're correct I'll fry you in oil"
so all the adventurer has to say is "roast me in the pit!" which makes his statement correct and false at the same time
by saying "roast me!" he actually get's fried as he was correct in his statement but if the chief decides to fry him then the adventurer was also incorrect in his statement....right? so he gets freed ^^

Leaves the chicken and takes the wolf across.
Then makes one last trip to retrieve the chicken.

@Enma Ai Righteous, I only got it right cause I heard it somewhere before.

How about this one:

I had a dream last night that your plane would crash and everyone would die!" The business man cancels his trip and sure enough, the plane crashes, killing all the passengers. The man gives his watchman a $10,000 reward for saving his life, then fires him. Why?

eeeeeh that's easy ~
when you say two fathers and two sons you don't mean a total of 4 people but rather the relationship between a grandfather, a father and a son..the grandfather and the father are the two "fathers" and the father along with the son are the two "sons"..so we get a total of 3 people ^^ here's how you've got 3 fish...

LouNa
01-26-2012, 08:55 PM
awww Qualtz I was about to write that xD

well....here's another one!

we have this man that wants to visit a friend of his. While on his way to his friend's house he comes upon a road that splits into two paths, each guardied by one soldier. The man can't know which is the right way to his friends' house but apparently the soldiers do know and they tell him that one of them says only the truth when asked a question and the other only lies..what does the man have to ask to get shown the right path to his friends' house?

Koudo
01-26-2012, 08:57 PM
It doesn't have to do with the shape, and Qualtz got it right.

The man should ask either guard what path the other guard would say is to his friend's house, then choose the opposite path.

Right?

Here's one:

During lunch hour a group of girls from Mrs. Jones's homeroom visited a nearby grocery store. One of the five took an apple.

Jen said, "It was Hanna or Tasha".
Hanna said, "Neither Bessie nor I did it."
Tasha said, "Both of you are lying."
Donna said, "No, one of them is lying, the other is speaking the truth."
Bessie said, "No, Donna, that is not true."
When Mrs. Jones was consulted, she said, "Three of these girls are always truthful but two will lie every time."
Who took the apple?

that riddle is kinda familiar... and i forgot the answer XD

Koudo
01-26-2012, 09:03 PM
Oh I should explain my logic to LouNa's probably so here goes.

If you ask the guard who always tells the truth, he knows the other guard would lie, so he'll point you to the path leading to nowhere. If you ask the guard who always lies, he knows the other guard would truthfully show you the path, so he'll lie and point you to the path leading to nowhere.

Qualtz
01-26-2012, 09:11 PM
On Louna's riddle, it was something similar to the riddle i've heard before... the answer to that one was to ask the liar which path leads to nowhere so he'll tell you the one you're really looking for @.@

Koudo
01-26-2012, 09:19 PM
@Qualtz Louna's riddle was in Yugioh I remember that, but I guess there are a lot of different questions you could ask. I probably over thought it.

@Error345 Tasha is the thief, but Bessie isn't one of the liars. You got the answer, but if you wanna figure out the Liars and Honest people then go ahead.

LouNa
01-26-2012, 09:19 PM
both Qualtz and Koudo nice! ;)

then as of your riddle koudo I think error got the thief correctly but not the liars xD it's tasha that did it right? and she's one of the liars along with donna..

jen accuses hanna and tasha (truth)
hanna absolves herself and bessie (but leaves tasha out) [truth]
tasha then accuses both jen and hanna of lying [lie]
donna believes either jen or hanna [lie 'cause she should believe both]
and bessie doubts donna [true 'cause her logic is wrong]

that's what I thought at least xD

Koudo

B: you're right..then let's say that the sum of their ages is the number of that block of flats you see across the street.
the first guy stares at the number but once again finds that the clues aren't enough

there are 3 switches in 'off' mode outside of a room. One of them controls one of the lightbulbs inside the room, the other two do nothing.
Once you open the door to the room, you can't go back outside of the room anymore(the switch room)
Before going to the room, how would you flip the switches in order to be able to tell which switch controls the light bulb?

Qualtz
01-29-2012, 02:47 AM
Turn on one switch and wait five minutes. Then turn that switch off and turn on another. Enter the room and touch the light bulb. Obviously, If the light is on the genuine switch is the second one. If the light bulb is off and cold it is the third one and if the light bulb is warm and off it is the first switch. If the light had been turned on for five minutes it would have warmed up

a better answer would have been is to flip all the switches but it's too bad the riddle maker had to be geeky about it :D

Which one is the car thief?

Consider that six statements are false. A's first statement and C's first statement contradict each other. One of them is false. C's and D's contradict each other. One of them is false. Therefore, there are four additional false statements.

Assume A is guilty. If so, A's second statement, B's second statement, and D's first statement are the additional false statements.

Assume D is guilty. If so, A's second statement, B's first statement, and D's third statement are false. This also only makes five false statements. D did not do it.

Assume C did it. If so, A's second statement, D's first and third statements are false. This again, makes only five false statements.

After ruling out suspects A, C and D, B is the culprit. B's third statement, C's second statement, and D's first and third statements are the additional false statements. This adds up to six.

So, at the beginning of the first day, the frog has 30 feet to go, at the beginning of the second day it has 29 feet to go,etc. How many days does it take the frog to get out of the well?

riddle 3 -> One day Mike phoned his brother Jay. "I need your help, my car is broken & I can't get it home without help. Can you bring your car & a towing rig?" Jay said "Ha? My car can't tow yours, the engine's not strong enough!" Mike says "It's OK. I'll tow you". Ray, confused, came anyway and sure enough, Mike towed Jay's car using his own car and got safely home. Without doing this, Mike couldn't have gotten home. What's wrong with Mike's car? What's wrong with Mike's car?
The answer is the brakes are gone, so Mike tows Jay's car, but Jay's car is needed to brake for him.

the answer is 28 because if you realize by the beginning of the first day, he has 30 ft to go, By second day, he has 29 (since he progressed 3ft-2ft=1 ft). By third he will have 28 ft more (2 ft). So, by the 27th day, he will have progressed 26 ft and have 4 ft more to go, so he can only make the last jump when he reached 28th day when the frog covered 27 ft (since the frog can reach the top by then, he won't slide back down), which is actually in the morning of the 28th day.

A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50." The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less. In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet?

An old man wanted to leave all of his money to one of his three sons, but he didn't know which one he should give it to. He gave each of them a few coins and told them to buy something that would be able to fill their living room.

The first man bought straw, but there was not enough to fill the room. The second bought some sticks, but they still did not fill the room.

The third man bought two things that filled the room, so he obtained his father's fortune. What were the two things that the man bought?

fine~

It's so strong, it does not break,
It's so powerful, it penetrates a lake,
Sometimes it's weak as a twig left out in the sun,
It's so wonderful it gives us the power to have fun.
What is it?
