FireFox could be faster than Chrome but you have to change the settings to do so. Personally I like Chrome over FireFox, it has the K-On! theme ^_^ and it's nicer looking overall.

As for chrome being faster than firefox idk, they both open in less than a second after i click them and most my pages load relatively instantly and streaming is fast on either.

I learned about this recently in one of my classes, it seems Google Chrome is a "fully" multi-threaded application while firefox is a "semi" multi-threaded application. A multi-threaded application can perform multiple tasks (i.e. sending & receiving packets and displaying) at the same time. In chrome every tab is separate, so if that tab crashes or hangs, the other tabs should work fine. In firefox the programming is not as smooth so the problem of one tab is affects the others. Chrome is relatively new compared to firefox so its a little harder to configure, but if your looking for functionality I would suggest Google Chrome. XD

I'll go with firefox, because you can change themes, and it can read Kanji characters :)... Chrome isn't bad though, it just looks WAAAYY too plain for me, and Kanji characters appear as boxes in chrome.

I like both. I prefer Firefox for streaming and for plugins and themes. Chrome is better for browsing in general since pages load faster. Neither are very quick with flash so Internet Explorer still wins if you are wanting to play a flash game or something (Like you RuneScape fans out there), though Internet Explorer just sucks overall, imo. I have been using Firefox for many years and I have been using Chrome for about a year now. Overall I still prefer Firefox. ^^

Google Chrome is far superior at least from my point of view, i dont care about memory consumption as long as it runs smoothly. and it even comes with built in flash plugin and alot other things that u have to install afterwards if u want em in firefox(like inspect element, the firebug addon in firefox).

Firefox eats too much memory which makes Chrome more faster in terms of start up and usage.

Chrome consumes too much Hard Disk Space since it saves up nearly everything on your PC, while firefox doesn't.

Firefox has more add-ons than Chrome.

Chrome does not support several other websites while Firefox does.

Firefox has an OS-tan version whereas Chrome still does not have an official OS-tan.

Chrome has the windows Aero skin which makes it look good on my pc, while firefox has several good looking themes, it still does not cut to the chase XD.

Just as everybody mentioned, if you have a slow computer, better off with chrome. Functionality wise, I prefer firefox because of its plugins (xmarks,adblock,wot...). Also love how everything can be customized. Currently my firefox is consuming very little real estate space ;)

actually chrome uses less memory and runs faster because its cleaner than firefox

so basically it comes down to speed and security vs customization

I posted on this forum a couple of times but I never really gave Firefox a try because I'm a loyal Google Worshiper.
Anyways I gave Firefox a try and... OMG you guys better turn off that automatic download option!!!
I just click download and it would download without asking me where I wanted to put the stuff.

Thats extremely dangerous!
One of the most common viruses get to your computer by asking your computer to download it when you go to the page.
In these cases the file will be downloaded instantly without warning. So turn off the automatic download option from Firefox.

Other than that it feels ok.
I still like Chrome better because its simple and clean which means it has everything I want and thats it.

Its kinda proven that Chrome is the fastest internet browser and useless less memory than basically all other browsers.
The simple reasoning is that its clean.

The preference is usually speed and stability (Chrome) vs customization and features (Firefox)

Well for now anyway its Firefox for me...Mostly because its what I already have and I am used to it. Also google collects the most information on people of any company i know. So using their browser probably only gives them more of my privacy. I know I know...at the end of the day I google everything anyway...so its the same.

I try to close 30 tabs and then open it again. It took less than 2 second and never crash or memory leak just like Firefox does in sometimes thus i don't want to say anymore further or else it'll be a browser war : )

I have tried Internet Explorer (slow + bad Idea to keep on it) , I used Google Chrome (I liked it .. fast + doesnt crash on me) , I tried FireFox (not as slow as IE but still not as fast as Google Chrome , I dont like the look of FireFox) So I settle on Google Chrome ... Never got attached to using as many plugins as some so moving from Firefox to Chrome wasn't bad. I have become attached to just being able to type my search into the main bar in Chrome rather then the separate one Firefox has. Plus Chrome updating Flash automatically is nice.

I used to have these browsers. But I prefer Firefox more than Google Chrome. Chrome may be faster, but in Firefox there are add-ons that is very useful. They had this download bar that ensures all your Direct Downloaded files, when stopped, will still continue. (Unlike the others where it will stop and you had to re-download it) Also I had this application in Facebook that is only applicable for Firefox.

Here's some Fact about Firefox and Google Chrome..

Google chrome
- They indeed have skins.
- Very light at memory
- Reliable
The bad side is...
- You can pause your download yet if you close the browser yet download is also gone.
- It doesn't maximize the use of internet speed
- It doesn't maximize also the downloading speed
- They always crash down.

Firefox
- Firefox have skin
- Good for browser (I doesn't visit any page that doesn't require firefox)
- You can pause your download and even close the browser or even turn off your computer and continue it the next time you open your computer
- It took more internet speed than Google chrome.

Bad side:
- Its heavy in memory

That's for my observation
I think Google chrome took sometimes 65 - 80% of internet speed
And Firefox took 65 - 90% of internet speed

So if I was using a fast computer with good specs I prefer Firefox.

ive gotten used to chrome, I like the way the bookmarks appear n stuff, as well as the speed :) Although I heard fiefox took on a similar look which i havent checked out, one of my friends from work said he liked the old look of firefox. He ended up just switching to chrome cos it was firefox but faster lol... its all up to personal preference tho, a lot of my friends still prefer firefox.

The simpel and yet accurate reason i choose chrome. Its faster. The issue with firefox aswell as Internet explorer and safari (mentioning the big browsers only) is that they are based on one singel program running for all of your tabs or windows the issue with this is that if lets say otaku streamers were to start lagging i might find myself having issues using another website. This will not happen with Google Chrome. My only complaint with chrome not really that big of an issue is the security with internet banks atleast here in sweden. (i use internet explorer for that stuff so im all good)
