Well...I know that there are a couple of Otakus out there who are incoming college freshmen in May/June/July (in the Phils.). Let's share our experiences about this!:1:
I'll start:
I'm an incoming freshie at UP Diliman...and I'm pretty intimidated at the way things work there...but I'm really excited for the anime conventions held there!

To those incoming College freshman and to those who passed the college of their choice, CONGRATULATIONS! HAHA! I agree that college life is hard and if you're not careful you can end up biting the dust sooner than you expected.
Friendly Tip:
Always pass your requirements on time, because unlike highschool you're teachers always reminds you of your incomplete requirements. College isn't like that...you will be the one to ask them and inquire them about what you're still missing and lacking.
HOPE this HELPS! GOODLUCK GUYS! :D

..... COLLEGE FRESHMEN?? ..... Uhmmm!!!! CONGRATS for passing your HIGH SCHOOL years and passing your entrance exam on your respective school / universities....
..... Lucky for those students who are sent in college by their parents, not like me whom i need to work for 6 hours every week in the school where i study for my school fees.... It is quiet hard but i have no choice......
..... When i was in my FRESHMEN years..... The hardest part for me is the first one week of the class!! I really don't know why but i guess it is because i am preoccupied of all the things; specially if i choose the right course, can i cope up with the changes of being a college student, being scared of the instructors and if i will be able to finish my 1st semester in my college year.....
..... Yes! All of the things I'm worried about i conquered it all.... Hehehehe.....
..... To those incoming FRESHMEN here in OS the very first thing you should consider is the "COURSE CHOOSE BY YOU" not by your parents, cousins & relatives and even your set of friends because your the one to suffer....
..... Good Luck to all incoming FRESHMEN and do your best guys!!!!

and the worst? the university they made me attend to wasn't active on upholding AniCons.. grrrr.. I hope college life will still be pleasant.. T.T

Don't worry, its not as bad as i sounds, well depending on your course actually. haha!
Btw,i'm a 3rd Year at UP Diliman taking BS ECE.
Hmm, what can I say about your future university where you'll stay hopefully for the duration of your course, nothing more nothing less ^^
Your grades are majorly dependent on yourself but don't be surprised if your grades in some subjects are magically governed by your professors, that happens... XD
Usually there are 2 anime/cosplay events held in the campus per year, governed by UP Anime and Manga Enthusiasts, but that's not all you'll be in for loads of freebies, live performances and exhibitions so enjoy your freshman life while you can.... wahahaahah! Peace...
