It's implausible that they would choose to charge a fee since they will undoubtedly end up losing out in the long run.

Guys, it's just a rumor and FB would not be stupid enough to implement such a drastic change. The fact is that a large segment of Facebook includes younger teens who cannot pay for the service.

And, yes, to the posters above me. Everyone does in fact love free things, and there are plenty of other free opportunities. Facebook already generates a huge revenue from advertisements and they would be incredibly foolish to throw away their large user-base that the ads depend on.

Even though ads are sometimes annoying, there are so many things that would not be possible without advertisements.

In the end, if Facebook ever decides to actually charge a fee, it's not like there aren't plenty of other free sites that will spring up to receive all the people who fall off the Facebook tree.

If FB would have to charge people of course it won't be popular anymore
Otherwise other FB users would transfer to Multiply, Gaia , Friendster and other websites

It would seam that it's just a bad rumor. There are lot's and lot's of "free" companies as FB who make a living of adds and special offers (which you pay). It's a whole market and I really don't think they are that foolish to let it go.

solidoxygen is right its just a rumor. Facebook management knows that if they charge a fee they would lose a lot of people. They're making their money from their advertisement, and if fb lose a lot of users then there's a high possibility that advertisement will pull out and go to another website.

I tell you something.Be careful what do you think about games that are being payed to play.When it comes to gaming style,games which is needed to pay for you to play has more better performance than those aren't.
