Help OS Please?

Dear Members

You have all been great in supporting us in the past few months. However, we once again need to ask you to please help to cover this month's server bills.

Total cost of our dedicated server and the accompanying video hosts cost us around $2,500 annually. Other than the Dedicated main host which we pay every 3 months (the cost is too high to pay once a year), the rest of the hosts are paid for annually and in some months even if we don't make our required $200, we can wait till the next month's donations kick in.

Sadly March is not one of those months.

We cleaned out the Piggy bank in Feb for our DS and come 1st week of April, another of our video hosts come up for renewal, so we really need a bit of cash in the next week or so.

We sincerely hope we have been providing you with a great site to watch anime and hang out with like-hearted Otakus, so if you have any extra cash lying around and you think we deserve it, please help by donating.

Please help keep alive our dream of providing "Free Anime" for all!!!

I kinda feel sad being a freeloader. I really want to help but the will to help might not be enough. Please help out guys!!! I don't know if you are being sarcastic or serious. But I'll take it as you are serious.
First off, the only people who would be interested in buying OS merchandise is the users of OS, it is a little marked and it will because of that be costly to produce any merchandise produced.
While that in itself is fine, it is likely that people who would actually buy an OS hoodie (w/e the merchandise would be) would already be donating to OS. While you might be willing to pay/donate a bit more in order to get a hoodie, it will have to be seen it the light of what the person would normally be donating. The total price of the merchandise would have to be higher than the usual donation from that person combined with the cost of making the merchandise.

The problem is that a lot of the people who would be interested in this are unable to donate due to circumstances; lack of money or the ability to donate. And as such would also be unable to pay for the merchandise.


I think pleading is the only way to go about it, and perhaps if possible change the payment method for the dedicated host, I know that will require a big down-payment, but a lot of money can be saved that way.
But it will either require a lot of extra pleading in order to raise the cash or a lot of faith in OS by someone willing to make the first down-payment.

I'll see what I'm able to spare at the moment. *takes out calculator, red numbers appear* I seriously hate being a poor student :emh25: well I'll try my hardest to dig out some funds

Merchandise would actually cost a lot to make as we would have to work on small qntys and prices reduce only when the volume increases (and we obviously cant start out big). Also if we had the funds to start producing merchandise, we would just put it towards the server cost and be done with it.

There is also the very teeny problem (and now I am being sarcastic) of our members living around the world and the cost of transportation which would be very high for small timers like us.

Then of course - the net profit we make on an item (say a T-shirt) would probably be around US $1.00 or less (due to all the above costs)

Finally - the actual work load this will take will mean that we would have at least 2-3 full time staff handling it and they will also need to be paid. Unless of course they are rich in which case they can just donate and we dont have to go through above steps ....

OS is now averaging around 500 - 600 users online at any given time. If 10% donated $5.00 we will be more than covered :4:

PS : we will need around $1000 to pay for the DS in one shot (annually). It now costs us around $300 every 3 months.

I dont see that happening in the near future, unless we got ourselves a Sugar Daddy or I won the lottery :18:

Well i was able to scrap together a few dollars to donate. I may be able to give a bit more just have to check to see when i may possibly be getting some more money. If its soon i'll gladly give the rest I have to OS!!(Even though i think its only other $5 lol)

@Jade: I'm with you on that whole poor student thing.....its a shame and i hate it from the depths of my soul! lol but we can look at it this way we wont be poor forever.( I hope at least lol)

Create a paypal account of your own and then link your debit card to it.

Pls dont pay directly into our paypal account from your debit card - its not safe (not sure it can even be done, but in case - dont dont it :1:)

Never use your debit card to make direct payments / purchases on the web. OS is well protected, but why risk it?

All you need is a debit card to your bank account and then link it to a paypal of your own and make the payment via paypal to paypal

The paypal will automatically convert your currency into US $

The goal is to keep this site free from ads, but they have already thought of doing this so they created the other site if you wanted to download music or anime from. But I dont think that is going as well as expected. Great idea though.. =) If you have not heard bout the site its http://omoukajuu.info/

All you need to donate is a Paypal account, if you haven't got one, it is very easy to create one just go to "Paypal.com" and it is should be pretty much down hill from there.
Paypal is perfectly safe! and a brilliant tool to ensure your safety when doing transactions on the net!


Once you have a Paypal account all you pretty much have to do is click the giant banner on the homepage and chose an amount.

A humble idea has enter my head...
As Kolokoy said there is a site where you click ads to earn money....
I happen to know what the site is.... A group i joined from Facebook advise
it for making easy cash for " Ninja Saga " coins.... (A game from facebook)
I can't totally vouch it's authenticity.... but It's worth a shot... It's free anyway
and we have nothing to lose.... Since no money will be going out...

The problem which can be solved...
The process were you click and earn money is super slow...
Every time you bump a site you get $.02, you can bump 5 sites a day if you are a Standard Bumper. You also get $.01 every time one of your friends Bump a site.

The solution?
It's us... If we can say that Half of all Os members get an account and link it together... Within weeks we can generate enough money for Os' bills....

I haven't been actively " Bumping " my account has only .40 Dollars to date...
With no friends.... Another problem i saw was... Once you link with a user... You can't link with others... And was thinking of a way over it...

I first thought since i already had an account... Why not link it with mine?
(Making mine the Main account),But i think some Moderator should make an account.... So we can remove any doubts on me.... And assure that the money we will be earning will be directed to Os Immediately....
