My favorite type of couple is where the boy is all standoffish and kinda tough, but the girl is sweet, loving and very kind and the boy has a weakness for her but he doesnt like to show it, or he shows it only to her.

I also like it when there's an age gap, like senpai and kohai where the boy is older. (Like Mikan/Tsubasa) Hell, I even love Rin and Sesshoumaru.

I don't know i love romance and characters that love each other but have a hard time telling each other and they practically attack the each other at points. Or one that one of the characters has no idea that the other loves them. Like Special A, Earl and Fairy... I love romance in anime.

Truth be honest.. I'm more of an in-between yaoi and normal lovey dovey couples.. (Somehow I always get the nosebleeds when it comes to the yaoi.)

But with all due respect.. I can honestly see Watanuki and Kohane being together. They're just so cute and similar in all aspects. But that's in the normal lovey dovey couple!

I like it when main characters aren't complete fools (which is sadly untrue in many cases) and that they actually know what they are doing / take responsibility. Just that justifies 50% of watching an anime for me. The other 50 goes towards plot and just how awsome the main characters actually are.

I've never really thought about it like that... but I suppose I'm a fan of couples that start as friends or teammates for a shared cause that end up falling for eachother. And if you're watching something 'romantic', it ought to be so, or at least 'cute'. Also, the cliche anime girl that boys in this genre tend to go for (a high-pitched, short-skirted and physically unproportional idiot) really irks me, in a way... you start thinking the only reason the guy is there is because the chick he likes can't possibly be able to function or take care of herself without people watching her and it'd be irresponsible to leave someone like that alone. I'd rather stick around and watch a witty, determined or brave girl who possesses a personality be won over so that it actually seems like they have a reason to be together and like eachother.

Probably when the protagonist girl falls in love unexpectedly to someone she dislikes. Then the boy is already in love with that girl for a long time.

It's funny and so giddy to watch as they progress in their relationship. hahhaha. :D
