What's your mannerism?

Mannerism is an unconscious action or habit.
Like for example, I'm unconsciously pouting my lips when I'm bored or waiting for someone. I have a friend who likes to scratch her fingernails when she's bored.
What's yours? Or do you know someone who has a weird mannerism? Share it here. ^^

Depends on the situation, if I'm bored or watching movies I have a bad habit of biting my nails. Totally involuntary :(

When I'm studying I tend to play with my hair and or scratch my head, I'm guessing there is some sort of underlaying frustration involved ^^

-When I'm nervous, I make a little nervous chuckle in response to things people say to me, and often talk to myself nervously.

-And lastly (that I can think of), while sitting around reading or watching something on the computer for long periods of time, I usually get comfortable by putting my arm behind my head. Now I'm not talking hand on neck, I'm talking hand touching the other arm's shoulder.

Yeah, I'm pretty quirky.

-EDIT: And I just noticed myself nibbling on the inside of my lower lip. I guess there's a few more that I don't know of.

I also crack my knuckles a lot. I have a weird way of popping my pinky fingers that looks like I'm breaking them. I grab the tip with my middle finger and snap it sideways. I also pop my wrists and neck often, but that's more for comfort than a quirk.

Another thing is I have to keep my hands busy at all times. If I'm not typing I'm twiddling with something. I usually keep a balisong knife on me, not for practical use, but because I like to do finger rolls with it lol. (butterfly knife if you don't know what a balisong knife is). While watching anime, or tv, I subconsciously grab it and catch myself later flipping and twirling it. I usually don't notice until I end up flinging it somewhere. :emhh21:

Oh oh! If you mean moving your heel up and down when sitting down, then I do that as well! I was doing exactly that when I read your post and realized that I was doing it. I'm glad there are others who share my mannerisms.

Hmm...i don't really have a mannerism. I found out i had one some years ago then i notice so i stop. But i do know one of my friends who is a guy. He got a really long hair and he does that thing where they do in shampoo advert...like flicking the hair upwards or something.

hm. I'm really observant of other people's mannerisms but hyper-sensitive of my own, and I guess that's why I can't recall having one... I have always had relatively long hair, so I twist/braid/knot strands of it then start all over again, but that's just to kill time. I do theater and plays, and when taking on the part of a character you need to decide how they move and react, and also give them a couple well-placed mannerisms that make them quirky and realistic. For the part I have right now, Mary Ann, she always puts her hands on her hips backwards (so that the wrists are in and the palms face out) when waiting for people or feeling frustrated. and when listening to something she likes to hear, she twirls a piece of hair or makes a little clasped triangle with her hands.
