View Full Version : Creating a bootable cd windows XP installer using nero 7

NOTE:

* specific, I used Nero 7 Ultra Edition
* works on any downloadable windows XP versions and hacked versions
(black, royal blue, crystal etc...)

Instruction:

1. Create a folder in ur drive
Ex: D:\burnxp

2. Put there all the files that you will burn in your CD or DVD

3. Download this image file (you'll be needing it later)

4. When ur done arranging the files, open nero
Select
NEW > CD(Boot) or DVD(Boot)

I prefer CD(boot) i got errors in making dvd bootable disk

5. Go to Boot tab, click Browse and select the microsoft.img image file
follow this setting:

6. Go to ISO tab...
in the hints it says,

"For full compatability choose ISO level 1, ISO 9660
character set"
if you follow this, you'll get a bootable but corrupt file installer... Instead dont
change the setting in there...

7. put all the files that you are going to use....

8. burn afterwards then its done, you have a bootable windows xp installer @_@

You know, most computers now a days can boot from USB, so it might be nicer to just use WinSetupFromUSB.

You know, most computers now a days can boot from USB, so it might be nicer to just use WinSetupFromUSB.

Yah 4 me its much easier to boot from USB's but still this is a nice information to learn....
