Gintama Movie Annouced

According to the 48th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine of 2009. They have annouced that Gintama will get a Movie adaptation by 2010.


This year's 48th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing next Monday that Hideaki Sorachi's Gintama manga is being adapted in a movie. The announcement gives no further details except for the tagline of the feature article "Gintama Wasshoi Matsuri!!" ("Wasshoi" is a traditional rallying cry at Japanese festivals, or matsuri.) The international movie studio Warner Brothers registered the Internet domain name Gintama-movie.com earlier this month. The domain currently redirects to the main page of Warner Brothers in Japan.

The official website for the Gintama: Shinyaku Benizakura-Hen (Gintama: Benizakura Arc ? A New Retelling) anime movie has begun streaming a half-minute teaser trailer on Friday. Sunrise's film adaptation of Hideaki Sorachi's Gintama alternate-history gag manga will open during Golden Week, the string of Japanese holidays that stretches from the end of April through the first week of May. The title indicates that the film will depict a new version of the popular Benizakura story arc from the television anime series. Movie Trailer:

If they show it by retelling the Benizakura Arc, it's fine. If they make the movie about the war with the Amantarous and all of Gin-san's past friends? That would be really sweet "p . Dunno if they will really end the series though. They always lie, so hope for the best.

Gintama is a great anime! It doesn't keep you at the edge of your seat normally, but it's something really fun to watch. It's definitely worth watching.
