didn't know were to put this so just made a new thread.

Anyway this may be a stupid question but I've seen some other forum sites with a very similar layout as OS, is it something like wordpress where you have a basic site pre-developed and add templates or is it something different. Trying to see what the differences would be from a blog (wordpress) site and a forum based one.

i dont know exactly but this might be preloaded layout but the contents are made by jim as far as i know

I considered CB but it is a bit harder to track answers if not checking all the time, thought posting in the corner would be better... apologies if this broke some site etiquette.

The reason I asked is in the process of building a site as a favour and was considering what platform would suite their needs better, forum based or a blog format. The blog might be easier to set up with wordpress but if they want a lot of different users posting their own comments and discussions then the forum would be better suited. Anyway I though since OS is technically laid out like a forum might as well ask about it from a site I actually use, in addition to tech forums found through google - though the answers are usually too technically or completely in left field.

Also noticing that some of the other forums have very similar themes to OS I thought there might be a open source development kit like wordpress that one can just tweak a bit (or a lot) to suit ones needs.

So maybe I should just say it was curiosity and leave it at that.
